Review summary

I would highly recommend this Alaska cruise and the Celebrity Solstice. The ship itself is a pure joy but the staff and crew make it an exceptional vacation!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Main dining room was a very pleasant experience. The waitstaff, sommelier, and bar staff could not have been more attentive or nice.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

Loved the Solstice Theater performances. Superb comedian. The Celebrity Solstice orchestra was phenomenal!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
John, our room steward was the best! The man appeared to work 24 hours a day. Raul, our waiter and Gilman, the assistant, were so pleasant. We always looked forward to seeing them at dinner.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Spotlessly clean and easy to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Would always recommend a balcony cabin. It opened up the room and made it feel so much larger. Not to mention how it added to the sights and sounds of our cruise. As mentioned above, our cabin steward, John, was the absolute best!

Ship tip

Check out the Passport Bar. The best servers and bartenders onboard.

The White Pass bus/train excursion is a must-do. The scenery will leave you speechless.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

I really enjoyed our days at Sea. The best views are available in the Sky Lounge.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
What a beautiful city! I had no idea what a gem of a city Victoria would be. So clean. Flower gardens everywhere. See the Empress Hotel!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The actual disembarkation and baggage claim was smooth and easy. However, the Port of Seattle has to do a better job of arranging their rideshare area. It was nearly impossible to navigate the 2-3 blocks to reach the assigned area. Crowds of departing passengers collided with those arriving for the next cruise. Try lugging 3 suitcases through that only to to be shouted at upon finally reaching the overcrowded rideshare area. What a disappointing downer to end a beautiful cruise. Get with it Seattle and re-design the passenger exit plan.
