Review summary

Cruise of a lifetime - great ship - great service and had lots of fun. Don't miss it. My only "complaint" is that I wish they weren't always trying to sell/up sell you - it wasn't super pushy or obnoxious in my opinion but the undercurrent was always present.

Embarkation

Simple and easy - we were on board by 11:45 an and the whole process took maybe 15-20 minutes

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Wonderful food - we were Aqua class so ate mostly at Blu. Ryann and his assistant (forgot his name - sorry) were attentive and professional while funny and genuine. We took advantage of a 30% first night discount to eat at The Tuscan Grill which was a culinary highlight from starters to dessert and ambiance.

Spectacular and worth the extra cost - do it the first night and save 30%!

Blu Restaurant

As stated a few times - so glad we did Aqua class and had access here - great food and excellent service.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Some shows were awesome - like Rock City but some of the comedians seemed to be prepared for only an adult show and seemed totally lost bordering on incoherent at the 7pm show when children were present and they needed to do tamer material.

Fortune's Casino

Hey - came in 1st at the 17 person slot tournament so what's not to like?!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Most were fabulous - didn't do a lot but enjoyed the availability of many different genres of musical entertainment.

Persian Garden

My wife loved this (I visited once but not my thing though I can easily see the appeal)

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

Wow - the room was always clean and barely noticed the work our cabin steward had to do he was that unobtrusive. Already mentioned the Blu Restaurant staff who were top notch all the way around. The Captain was hilarious every time he addressed the passengers.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Never felt crowded. Everything look super clean (I couldn't believe some of the cleaning they do - ie - dusting every book in the ships library - who does that?). There have been some comments about the ship appearance in terms of it looking tired and in need of upgrading - I didn't see this at all - very pleased with the decor - elegant and not gaudy like some of the Carnival ships that I have been on.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Well appointed - comfortable - standard kind of cabin with Aqua class amenities (better shower, soaps, spa access)

Ship tip

Do Aqua class!

Lots of shops / kind of a cheesy lumberjack show - just ok port. From what I understand - many of these shops are owned by the cruise lines - not many local merchants.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

Great views and glad that I got up earlier that I EVER do for this.

Buchart Gardens was amazing - just wish that a 45 minute bus ride there wasn't needed
