Review summary
The cruise was well worth it. I read many reviews that knit picked and was prepared for all sorts of shortcomings, yet other than some the deserts I was really not disappointed. The food was more than adequate for the price. The Grand Epernay has great service, the meals are smallish but well prepared. Our neighbours had a bad experience with some cold food and they were very good about making it right. I took advantage of the room service breakfasts and loved waking up to fresh croissants and coffee. The breakfast in the Ocean View was a cut above. The English bangers were great as was the omelette station. Lunches were mostly in port and whilst at sea we enjoyed the Sushi on 5. It was above average sushi and with a bit of crusty service. The Crab Shack boil in the Silk room was a disappointment as I would have been happy to pay for King crab as opposed to snow crab. Murano was a real treat and the service was wonderful. We were upgraded to a cabin on deck 10 in the aft section and I was not disappointed. Dinners were above average and I enjoyed the destination restaurants. I would actually eat at Grand Epernay the first night to meet the table mates as we were a good fit and we didn't meet them until the 3rd night.Embarkation
