This is the tale of two cruises. The first half is warm, beautiful, tropical paradise. Spotlighted by beautiful opportunities to enjoy the waters of the South Pacific. The second half is chilly, rainy and somewhat underwhelming. Of course, the ending in Sydney was the icing on the cake.
Embarkation

Agent was not informed about the check in process. Had to let him know that the express check in applied to both of us , not just me.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Did not visit any of the specialty dining but the main dining room was the excellent Celebrity quality food.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We don't do activities, other than people watch, read books and enjoy the sun.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Stage shows are much like all the others. Live bands were excellent but ran out of new songs for this 17 day trip.
Children's Programs
No kids along
Service and Staff

Remo in the Captains Club cocktail party really went out of his way to keep us happy.
Ship Quality

Our first trip on a Solstice class vessel was quite an upgrade from the Millennium class, which we truly enjoy. Wish the indoor pool was heated.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
First cruise with a balcony. Was nice but would probably choose oceanview and save the money. During a couple days of heavy seas, this cabin really got noisy. The walls snapped, crackled and popped. Folded up paper and stuffed into the bad spots.
Ship tip
If you are a Celebrity cruiser you might want to know that both the main and indoor pool are fresh water pools. Also, the indoor pool is not heated.
Clearing Australian customs was on one of the sea days from New Zealand. This made the process in Sydney quite easy. Not Celebrity's fault but, very few cabs were available making for long lines in the rain.
Sydney was end of cruise. We spent the balance of Friday and until our flight left Saturday night walking around the city on our own. If you are checking out the city only, this is enough time. Very clean.
