Review summary

Celebrity exceeded our cruise expectations. We will cruise with them again. The food in the buffet was phenomenal with so much selection. The ship, Celebrity Solstice is stunning. A lot to do onboard! We cruise AquaClass, but didn't find much value in it as BLU was not that good. We will try Concierge Class next time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was excellent. We arrived around 11am to the Seattle cruise terminal. It was hectic with the cabs and all the people with their luggage, however once we got into the terminal, a clerk saw that we were Aqua Class and we were ushered to the express line. Check in took less than 20 minute total. Keep in mind, that other passengers who were not Aqua/Suite/Concierge, their line was not at that long, seemed reasonable.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food exceeded my expectations! Especially in the buffet! So many choices and themes changed daily. So much selection. Room service was delivered quickly and was presented nicely and every meal was delicious. Café Al Bacio was excellent. Sushi on 5 was also very good, considering I am from Hawaii and eat a lot of fish. What was however a bit of a disappointment was Aqua Class' BLU restaurant. The tables are WAY TOO close together, unable to feel intimate as this was an anniversary cruise for us, just my spouse and I. Regardless of that, the food was AVERAGE at best. The food I had from the Main Dining Room had more flavor. I likely will not book Aqua Class again.

Onboard Activities

So much to do! I did not experience everything they had to offer because I was there to relax. I simply loved the adults only Solarium! Gorgeous and comfy furniture to relax and read. They had a headliner comedian two nights, he was hilarious. I wish I participated more in the other events like the music shows. We did go dancing at night at the main atrium which was such a good time! We are in our early 30s and we appreciated that the guests were older, more mature. Nightly events last till about 12am-1am, which was perfect for us! We booked AquaClass, and that comes with access to the Persian Gardens........Unreal! I went everyday and lounged on the heated tile loungers and napped. I really enjoyed it. The gym was large, with lots of options.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Excellent! Great comedians! Lots of movie nights, production shows, cooking demonstrations. A lot to do.

Children's Programs

We did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Excellent staff! Great room attendant and all servers were excellent. The only thing I did not like, and I am sure this is not employees' fault, is that servers continuously ask you to upgrade your drink package. I had the Classic Beverage package, which is more than enough to cover sodas, some cocktails and specialty coffees. It was irritating that servers would constantly ask me to upgrade to the Premium Package. Seriously? I already paid and chose the packages I wanted for this vacation, and yet they make their employees ask over and over. Highly irritating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Celebrity Solstice, is simply, GORGEOUS. Beautiful ship! Very modern, sexy ship! I loved every deck. Ship was constantly being cleaned and the staff works hard and does an impeccable job. I didn't want to get off the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Great stateroom. Felt more than roomy for a ship cabin. Bathroom was very large and I loved the shower!!! No shower curtain! Shower door and the Aqua shower had a lovely Hansgrove showerhead. The other amenities for Aqua were frivolous. The tea and infuser seemed pointless and took up space. The bed was very, very comfortable. Couch was near bathroom and bed was near balcony. The couch was ok to sit on, but not great to lounge, or sleep. Researched my room, #1604, it is on the "hump", which means the balcony is overly large, without extra cost. We had room service dinner on the balcony several nights and it was very roomy. The TV was pretty good, had about 5 channels and free movies. Pay movies are $15. I love that the TV swivels to face the couch or towards the bed.

Ship tip

Check out all the ship has to offer, I missed out on some stuff =(

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
I love Seattle, travelled there many times. Next time I would rent a hotel closer to downtown Seattle, vs staying closer to the airport, SEATAC.

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Cute and quaint town. Downtown very close to cruise port, able to walk right off ship and explore.

Juneau, Alaska

Make sure to see Mendenhall Glacier! It's 20 minute drive away from port.

Skagway, Alaska

Gorgeous! Took the excursion to Davidson Glacier, awesome experience.

Victoria, British Columbia

Gorgeous city! But not enough time in port! Only 5pm-10pm.

Disembarkation

SO EASY. We walked right off the ship with carrying our own luggage. Caught a cab to airport. Super fast and easy.

We did Concierge Class last summer to Alaska! So happy with it! Lots of perks going this way! Repeating this cruise next summer. Can't wait. Highly recommend Concierge Class!

experienced the same with AquaClass. Have done 21 cruises with Celebrity, believe you will find concierge very enjoyable. Happy sailing...
