Review summary

This was our first cruise so we can't compare but we were very happy with Celebrity and all their service. We splurged by going with a balcony and upgraded to Concierge Class. We felt that those perks really added to our experience. I would highly recommend this cruise

Embarkation

Not knowing exactly how it was going to work, once we arrived to the check-in area, we were met by plenty of Celebrity staff that were happy to point us in the right direction. We were concierge class which made things much quicker. Great experience

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The buffet area was fine with no complaints. There were your typical US menus along with several international themed food choices (Asian, Europe, etc.) The dining room was the place to be with exceptional food and service. We had a great server and his staff the entire week. We went to the Murano for a specialty dining experience. It was a little pricey at $50.00/person but the food and service was impeccable.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There were many great activities for young and older...The live band was ehhhh. The comedians were great and several themed activities were fun to participate in. Loved the silent disco nights and is a must do on this cruise.

Entertainment

Shows were great, comedians were great, live band was so so. We had a great Cruise Director in Steve. He was awesome making sure everyone knew what was going on throughout the day.

Service and Staff

Service was amazing!!! Our stateroom attendant, Sanjay was absolutely incredible. He took care of us and or room everyday. He was there to take pictures for us from the balcony and answered all our questions. Every time we would pass one of the crew, they would say, "Hello" and if we had a question, they were glad to help.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I can't say enough how clean the ship was. The kitchen area (during a tour) was spotless. Celebrity makes a huge effort to keep everyone healthy with hand sanitizing stations everywhere.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was great, especially with the balcony. We heard that it was worth spending a little extra for a balcony for an Alaskan Cruise. We thought it was well worth it especially with the great weather we had and the views

Ship tip

Have your bags sent up to your room. Be sure to have a back pack with you with some essentials when you board so you can enjoy the lounge/pool area before checking into your room. Get there early and explore the ship and relax before you go to your room. You were allowed in your rooms around 90 minutes prior to departure.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

We live in the Seattle area so we did not spend time in Seattle

Ketchikan, Alaska

We did not do an excursion through the ship. We found a bus tour once we got off the ship. It's a bit cheaper and there are lots of offers. Once we finished the bus tour, we explored parts of the city we wanted to without the headache of being with a group. I recommend going to the totem pole museum which is not part of any tour. There is a totem pole park which is part of most tours but the museum was much more interesting.

Juneau, Alaska

This is the only port that we had regrets. We needed to do the Mendenhall Glacier first (book off the ship) and then if you have time, take the tram up the mountain. The glacier park area closes at 1800 so we would have had time to do the tram after the glacier. We did the tram first and didn't have enough time to go to the glacier. Many people saw bears and other wildlife.

Skagway, Alaska

This is the only port where we booked an excursion ahead of time. We took the 7 hour rail tour which is actually a three hour bus ride up to the Yukon territory and a 2.5 hour ride back to Skagway on the train. We stopped at the Yukon Suspension Bridge for lunch (part of the excursion) and spent about 90 minutes touring the area. It did drag on for a bit especially since the train was slowed down due to issues with other trains. We were supposed to get back by 1630 but didn't get back until 1755 which was 25 minutes late to the ship. The ship was actually delayed a little bit for all those that were on this excursion. Be sure to book train excursion through Celebrity because the ship can't leave without you. It will if you do a private excursion.

We just walked into town and enjoyed a nice evening.

Disembarkation

We did not use the baggage service and walked out with everything. It was very easy and there was a shuttle to take us where we parked at Pier 91. Parking was expensive but was very convenient for locals
