This ship has a state of the art glassblowing hot shop on board with demos daily! And offers so many tours, including active ones. Wide range of ages, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, some older. Casual atmosphere and dining, no old fashioned Muzak playing with people dressed up in long gowns. Tours were easy to moderate to strenous, nice to have so many options including outdoor hikes etc. A retired Green Beret Naturalist gave daily talks on eagles, whales, orcas. So much to do each day, never had time to open a book.

So tired from all the fun, never bothered to go to a show, but the cirque du soleil type of acrobatic show looked good.

So many venues, nooks and crannies on this large ship, easy to find either small quiet places to relax or more active venues. The Sky Lounge at the top of the ship with 180 degree views was awesome. The espresso cafe was small, calm, great place to see the shore and relax.
Cabin / Stateroom

Larger than any other cruise ship we've been on, and it was only an oceanview cabin, not a big suite or balcony. Quiet and comfortable, with an almost king size bed, sofa, desk.
Ship tip
Liked having so many options for food service, and as very early risers the large cafe was open 24 hrs for coffee, served breakfast starting at 6, we enjoyed few people and quiet nice start to the day.
Save time for shopping, with a wonderful little place that's a co-op store of local artists (instead of tacky souvenirs made in China). Taku fish store has large selection of smoked salmon, quality, made by them. There is a tiny US Post Office right on the main street, mail home all your purchases in a flat rate box! Buy an Ulu chef's chopping knife and mail it home.
Here did my favorite tour - tiring, but fun. A 9 mile hike to a glacier and to/from train ride in glorious mountain scenery. Awesome. Small group in the Alaskan scenery, wonderful. Be prepared with hiking boots and layers!
