Review summary

The cruise was very nice, the ship cleaned and well maintained. The food was good and the service really good on the main dining Grand Epernay but the food was poor quality on the Ocean view cafe. The stateroom was OK and the service really good in the cabin, well cleaned. The entertainment was really not at at a level we expected for Celebrity, especially for Christmas time. ( especially shows at the Theater)  . But the worst will be our experience at the jewelry shop.We bought a Tag Heuer watch ( 3000 US$value). After 2 days and a visit at the pool, the watch was full of water ( supposed to be a diving resistant), they did not want to repair or exchange the watch ( still have one in stock). This event has ruined a part of our cruise experience. The manager of the shop,a turkish girl was not professional at all. Those people are not able to manage a shop with luxury brands and are not a good publicity for those brands.

Ship tip

Go to the Grand Epernay for lunch when it is open. Really much better than the Ocean view cafe.

Jenna.....relax with the grammar. it's actually "each to their own"!!!!!

Was the watch closed properly after you set the time? Dive watches are way too easy to flood with water if not familiar with them.

We too, have Tag Heuer watches and scuba dive with them into very deep waters - and have for many years.

To the lady Jenna.I feel really sorry for you.Everyone is at a different level and you may think the grammar used is not up to yours. When I respond to someone,I do it in a kind, helpful manner.I think you should really try to do the same.

I could not complain about the food or entertainment, some people are hard to please

And in response to the review, I just can't understand why you would go on a cruise to buy a $3,000 watch. However, to each their own and yet I still can't sympathize too much when it seems you're low-scoring a cruise just because you had problem with a purchase. This is a cruise we're talking about right; not a trip to the mall?

Ok antonyj, I've really just had it with the spelling and grammar errors on this site! My wife and I WERE on the Celebrity Solstice, I would HAVE raised a stink, they should HAVE given you a replacement. And what's with the lack of spacing after a period? It's so difficult to take any comment seriously when you feel like you're having to grade a 3rd grader's paper.

My wife and I was on the Celebrity Solstice back in 2014 and we too were not happy with the quality of the food in the buffet area.It declined each day.Concerning your watch,I would of raised a stink about it even requesting to see the top dog who runs the ship. They should of given you a replacement or your money back.Have you contacted the head office for Celebrity. Take care.
