Celebrity Solstice

10 Night Eastern Mediterranean (Rome Roundtrip)

Sail date: June 05, 2009

Ship: Celebrity Solstice

Cabin type: Balcony

Review summary

The ship was wonderful, but the room we were given was not worth what we spent for it. It had a balcony which directly abutted an area for the ship's crew to work. Due to this, our view was not as expected and the privacy of the balcony and room was affected because we were never sure when the workers would be passing by. We had to keep the curtain in our room drawn for the same reason, and therfore, we basically had the equivalent of an insider room for the price of a balcony room. In my opinion, Celebrity should use these rooms only for upgrading passengers from insider or ocean view room, not for passengers paying for a balcony. We were disappointed in and Celebrity for this situation

We paid for a balcony and because of the location of the room which overlooked a work area for the ship's crew, we were forced to keep our urtains closed and not sit on the balcone in order to ensure our privacy
