Review summary

This cruise was to celebrate husbands birthday & as he had a complete new knee replacement the end of last year, it was time for some relaxation therapy which I can honestly say we managed to get. We traveled as a family of 3 adults

Embarkation

Excellent embarkation very swift

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food in the Grand Cuvée Restaurant was first class, Oceanview Cafe for breakfast & lunch good oh & not forgetting afternoon tea 🍪🍰☕️👌We ate in 3 of the specialty restaurants, Qsine-Le Petit Chef, Tuscan Grille & Lawn Club Grill all were excellent but the Qsine-Le Petit Chef was absolutely amazing! when the table comes to life in an animated version of your meal is breathtaking & the food was 5*

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved people watching doing the fun & fitness dance class & the officers v passengers volleyball was hilarious 😂

Entertainment

Brilliant shows & comedians etc, loved The Silent Discos 😂

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Received very good service from all staff in Oceanview & outstanding service from our two waiters in The Grand Cuvée, who’s name’s were Elves & Canoy. Our room steward was Conrad & was very pleasant & helpful. A big shoutout must go to The Cruise Director Bethany, as a young lady she is very good at what she does, she’s a breath of fresh air.

Cabin / Stateroom

We had a Family Veranda room, & it was absolutely fabulous, it had a separate bedroom with bunk beds although my daughter only used the bottom one, our bedroom was the size of a normal cabin & then we had a sitting area with a table & chairs & a settee with 2 armchairs, the balcony was large too, this room was on deck 8 & is directly under the bridge

Ship tip

We have sailed on Silhouette 4 times & it has never let us down, just take it all in & enjoy

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

We had booked to go into The Sagrada Famila before leaving home in UK, as we visited there last year but couldn’t get inside, wow! I was left speechless, it is definitely a must see when in Barcelona

Marseille (Provence), France

Took a small train which ran alongside the Marina, very pleasant & for €8 each it took you up to The Basilique Notre Dame.

Lisbon, Portugal

Again did our own thing here, we caught a Tuk-Tuk from just outside the port & for over an hour our brilliant driver Bruno, took us all round & up to churches & a Monastery & some breathtaking views for €70 for 3 worth every penny Don’t forget, do not miss going under the bridge @ the entrance with Christ The Redeemer looking over

La Spezia, Italy

5 out of 5
Did our own thing with another couple from the ship, when to Pisa & it wasn’t disappointing

Gibraltar (U.K.)

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

We didn’t venture into Rome as we’ve done that before, but caught up with our friends who were also docked in Civitavecchia on Britannia

Ajaccio, Corsica
