Thoroughly enjoyed our cruise and most of the ports (Marseille was a bit disappointing). Weather was fantastic throughout.
Embarkation

We arrived at around 11 a. m. and were on board the ship within 15 minutes. Extremely smooth and efficient embarkation.

Food and Dining

We used Ocean View Café for breakfast most mornings. It was very busy and often needed to do several laps of the whole area to find a table. Other than that, there was a wide variety of food available and all tastes were catered for. We dined in the main restaurant most evenings using Select Dining where the choice of eating time is at the guests ' discretion. We were happy to wait in order to have a table for two in an area of our choice. For this, we were given a pager and usually went to the Martini Bar or Cellar Masters to have a pre dinner beverage whilst waiting. This worked well for us. On one occasion we had dinner in The Tuscan Grill. Wonderfully tender fillet mignon and treated to chocolate cake to celebrate 40 years of marriage!
Onboard Activities

My husband looked forward to the Paper Aeroplane Challenge and was happy to win the Silver medal... well, almost happy!
Entertainment

The cruise band were extremely professional and Matt, on guitar, was exceptional. Shows etc. are not really our thing so it would be unfair to say too much. That having been said, I did enjoy the Rock performance of Lorraine (can't remember her last name) who at one time had chart hits with Meat Loaf and Bonnie Tyler. Also, the Frankie Vallie and the Four Seasons tribute band gave a great high energy performance.

Ship tip
Prepare for a really busy ship but with excellent service from extremely hard working staff. Make sure to have a drinks package!
Second really long day on the trot but, again, extremely worthwhile. Today's excursion was 'Rome in a Day'. Visited The Vatican, The People's Square (for The Trevvi Fountain and The Spanish Steps) and The Colliseum. In each place we had time on our own rather than a guided tour. Timing was fine in all but The Colliseum where we had too much time as we did not actually go inside The Colliseum (due to entry times being at special times and not fitting in with our pick up time). We were lucky with the weather. If it had been raining we would have been stuck!
