Review summary

I tried reading reviews for trans Atlantic cruises before I booked this one. No one seemed to provide weather conditions for October crossings. Very stormy, rainy and rough sea conditions for the first two days. Sun never came out until the sixth day. This certainly is not Celebrity’s fault but it would be nice to know what to expect.

We have been on Celebrity since ‘98 and witnessed the slow decline of main dining room food selection and quality. Finally, this cruise we started at the main dining room but the second half of the trip was dinner at the ocean view cafe. Much better selection.

We were upgraded to this oceanview cabin overlooking the helo pad. Views were okay but was so noisy that we couldn’t sleep when we entered a new port. It seems that the winches for the mooring lines were directly under our cabin. About 1 1/2 hours before docking, the winches were cranking. And then there is the bow thrusters. OMG, never again. Now I know why we were given this cabin as they probably couldn’t book it.
