Review summary

A wonderful way to see some of Alaska in a short period. The ship was efficient, clean and well staffed to accommodate the guest.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
The port of Vancouver in this day had 3 other ships embarking at the same time. With only 1 custom area for all, it was several hours getting through. This was not a celebrity issue but it did dampen the mood.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Did not experience the specialty restaurant. Utilizing Luminae for meals. The food in Luminae was excellent, service outstanding and the atmosphere wonderful.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The pool area and hot tubs were clean, plenty of chairs, towels and blankets. It was a week of cooler temperatures so the decks were often sparse. This particular ship is not known for their activities, however the lounges has good atmosphere, talks and shows were fine. This was only a 7 day trip so most days are port based activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Performers were good

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very pleasant and helpful staff

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Loved the modern look and feel if the new retrofit. Clean and comfortable in all common areas.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin size is good for 2, clean and comfortable, the tub shower combo could be a little hard for some to get in and out of the shower as the tub is rather deep, so stepping out could be an issue with some. Although from the advertising photo you do not see a shower curtain, there is one and having a wet floor is not an issue.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

2 out of 5
The port needs to work on having a more stream line way of processing customers though customs when multiple ships are trying to load at the same time.

Cruise Inside Passage, Alaska

5 out of 5

Ketchikan, Alaska

4 out of 5
Even with 5 ships in port, the town and excursions seemed to handle and provide excellent service

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
The best of all the ports for whale watching as several were by the ship most of the day. Very nice walking boardwalk, this is a very small town, unsure how it could accommodate multiple ships, but the excursion area was well staffed and organized

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Again, with multiple ships docked the excursion and the town seem to handle the crowds well

Cruise Hubbard Glacier

5 out of 5
Wonderful clear day, only ship there. Sun was also out so the colors and the ability to see the vastness of the glacier were wonderful

Seward (Anchorage), Alaska

4 out of 5
Very organized and efficient terminal for transfers to anchorage.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Easy and efficient
