Review summary

A lovely cruise with interesting ports. Be prepared for hot, humid weather and LOTS of crowds. At one point a passenger had to be transferred to a hospital in Malaysia. Passengers were kept informed and the whole process seemed to be done smoothly (transfer to a small coast guard boat from a very large ship!).

Embarkation

Smooth and straightforward

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food in both buffet and main dining room was very good. All food staff were good if not excellent. A strength overall.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Trivia was good, some of the talks were interesting.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
They were all adequate. No real standouts except Monique (?) Dehaney. A couple spent a lot of time on self-promotion rather than the act itself.

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward was very friendly but we had to ask for towels and other things that he forgot on a number of occasions. Vacuuming was obviously not up to snuff as I found pills that were from previous occupants still on the floor. Wait staff at Cafe al Bacio were very sweet and accommodating. Waiters in the dining room and buffet were very friendly and accommodating. A couple of Bar tenders could only be described as surly but most severs were very friendly.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Millenium has just undergone a refit but it must have been a rush job. Carpet in our room wasn’t well installed. Wall paper had bubbles in it. Paint splats and gouges in the floor paint on the walking circuit we’re in evidence. Workers came to install irons in our staterooms and work on grouting. The overall theme of the refit seemed nice.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
All good except a couple of weaknesses in daily cleaning service.

Ports of call

Singapore

5 out of 5
On our own - Gardens by the Bay, hop on- hop off, orchid gardens, Raffles

Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Thailand

4 out of 5
Stayed overnight at Riverside Chatrium, took private transfer with 3 other couples. Be prepared for high heat and humidity! A Bangkok is a long way from the port.

Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

3 out of 5
Very industrial. Excursion was not entirely well represented. Me on Mekong River was only the time it took to cross it to unicorn island. Long day, excellent but rather late lunch.

Chan May (Hue), Vietnam

4 out of 5
Another very industrial port but good trip to Hoi An. Guide did her job just fine.

Ha Long Bay City (Hanoi), Vietnam

5 out of 5
Excellent port. Lots of effort made to clean and remove garbage other ports and surrounding countryside were littered with garbage. Private excursion on Ha Long Bay with Travel Authentic Asia. An excellent day! Beautiful place!

Hong Kong

5 out of 5
Lots to see and do. Cruise terminal is large but easy to find your way.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Very easy but the area where ou come out was confusing if you had a private transfer.

Oh my gosh. Probably it was from dehydration.
