Review summary

I would skip this cruise line for the next several years at least, when traveling with my family. If you don't have young kids with you and enjoy drinks, you should consider this cruise line.

Embarkation

We took the train and arrived early. Celebrity setup a bus Seward tours and took us to ship when they are ready. Free juice and champagne at entry.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Surprised they offered sugar free and gluten free dessert. Foods got better the latter days but there are times you can back from ports, missed lunch and not time yet for afternoon teatime, the only hot foods you can have are pizza and pasta. Lots of people seemed enjoyed the unlimited drink package.

Onboard Activities

Too cold to do outdoor. Saw people brought kids to indoor pool, which was supposed for 15 yrs or older, but we are too boring so we went. After a while, they asked kindly all kids to leave..... Xbox was the only thing my kids enjoyed, but I didn't bring them to cruise for Xbox! Kids did silence party too. Good ideas but only few people there, mostly a group of teenagers.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Because we brought young kids, so I had to included their opinion. Some are just boring for them. No activity designed specifically for kids, except kids clubs. Very different from our last cruise ship. The director part, unfortunately was a big disappointment, compared to our last cruise director. Total opposite, and we do miss that lovely loudly passsionately and hospitally everywhere lady. However, two shows are amazing, the duo dancing and singer Jennifer. Awesome! Even my kids enjoyed it.

Children's Programs

Kids just went there once. They only loved the XBOX machines in front of the customer service. Glad they put the machine away for the night so my kids can have breaks. Besides these, not much activities or facilities that the kids can enjoy on this ship.

Service and Staff

They totally forgot my son's birthday. I called before embarking and was assured there will be celebrations. Nothing was done until 9pm so I had to go talk to them. All he got was a yellow balloon with 2 notes. We felt so sorry because he had been expecting and so did we. Worst birthday ever!!!!! Some higher end European personnel seems cold. But most people and mostly asia personnel are polite, warm, smiling and caring. But comparing to our last cruise to Mexico, it lacks all the excitement and welcoming.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Clean and shine inside out. You can see people repainted the ship when the ship is not moving. They do a good job on maintaining the ship. Compared to our last cruise, we really like the centered design, where you see the lobby and hear music from every floor near the middle elevator.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Very caring stateroom attendant. Keep the room tidy and clean. Bigger and cleaner room compared to our last Carnival cruise. However, the water at room is $5.5 per medium size bottle. $3 for soda and $2 for snack bars.

Ship tip

If you have young kids, choose other cruise ships. If you plan to celebrate something, select other ships. If you like to drink, enjoys quiet, nice and celebrity or European vibe, do choose this ship.

Ports of call

Very small quiet town. The train from Anchorage to Seward was worth it.

Juneau, Alaska

Interesting port. We did tram with kids. Nice and easy.

Skagway, Alaska

Quiet interesting town with some residents. Lots of shops on main streets. Did not ride the train but did the bus tour. It was okay, glad we stop by to hold the puppy. The scenery was great and we were lucky to see a rainbow. The weather we had is not bad. We even get to watch the Canada policeman horse ridding show at downtown school. Free and awesome!!

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Well designed resting area with small museum and shops. Nice trails. You get one hour free wifi here.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Raining so not much to do here. No free wifi.

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

We quickly transport from cruise to city train for Amtrak train station. Convenient and friendly city. But we only got time to hang are One the train station, which is not very attractive.

Disembarkation
