Review summary

Millennium was a wonderful ship. It needs work and it will be refurbished this year to modernize it. It needs better beds. We were in a suite and the bed was the worst I have had in my recent memory (we cruise a lot). I would sail on her again. The ports were great. The itinerary was not easy coming from the west coast as we had a stop in Tortola our first day out of San Juan. Our shore excursion was at 8:30 which was 4:30 west coast time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

I thought the dining room food was very good. There were only 2 nights out of 10 that I thought there was nothing attractive. We ate in the Olympic dining room twice. Great experience and well worth the $35 per person.

Don't book 6146. It has a larger balcony but it is uncovered and exposed to all the decks above (plus the sun). The closets are smaller than other Sky Suites and are sliders so that if the boat is rocking side to side as it was for us, the doors are banging. I had to come up with various ways to jam the doors to keep from moving. The floor has numerous areas where it has buckled so that when you walk on those areas, you compress the bulge with a lot pop. Bathroom was great but I see no need for a stand alone bathtub.

Ports of call

Willemstad, Curacao

We just walked around the city. We had been there before. I would go back.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

This use to be my favorite island but the some of beaches have been so eroded because of hurricanes, I don't think I will return.

Castries, St. Lucia

We did a tour not offered through the ship. We went to the beach between the Pitons. It was O.K.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

We went to Josh Van Dyke on a tour. Beautiful but too crowded. I am glad I did it once but I wouldn't do it again.

St. George's, Grenada

We had never been to Grenada before. It is a poor Island. We took a tour of the East Part of the Island. It was an overcast day. We went to the rain forest which was nice. I probably wouldn't pick a cruise that included this port.

Oranjestad, Aruba

I like Aruba. Great beaches and weather.

Bridgetown, Barbados

We did a day pass at the Hilton Barbados. We had been to Barbados three times before and seen the island. The beach at the Hilton was wonderful. Barbados has a lot of history and is well worth visiting.

Pros: Crew and the ports

Cons: my bed
