Review summary

The Millennium is a beautiful ship with a lot of amenities. The entertainment production team was outstanding--excellent music and voices! The staff was friendly and helpful. The wine tasting was exceptionally well done and definitely worthwhile. Shore excursions were well managed, interesting and fun with the exception of one tour guide in San Juan who was very loud and completely obnoxious.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

Being castaways at Malfini Beach was wonderful. The little, secluded beach is pristine and very beautiful. It's a lovely place to relax, swim and just lay back and enjoy life. There's no food and no "amenities"--just a portable toilet--so those who want a "big city" beach experience with all the bells and whistles of modern civilization should stay on the beach where the tenders dock.
Don't Miss: Very good values on clothes and carved wooden items at the little stalls on the beach. Save a few dollars for gifts to bring home from Labadee.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

The Blackbeard's Castle & Recommended Shopping tour was definitely worthwhile. Both guides were knowledgeable and pleasant and the views from the top of the island were incredible.
Don't Miss: Shopping here can consume an entire day or more. Try some conch fritters or jerk chicken. They're very tasty.

Casa De Campo, Dominican Republic

The Catamaran Sail and Snorkel was great! The boat was beautiful and well-maintained. Our tour guide was personable and knowledgeable. Drinking rum and dancing the meringue made for a very memorable tour.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

The Bacardi Distillery tour was very interesting and the free samples were a nice perk. Not enough time allowed to really see the old fort. The tour guide was very loud and obnoxious which really detracted from the tour. Try the peach flavored rum--it sounds weird, but it was our favorite of four samples.

Pros: Terrific entertainment

Cons: Lack of cleanliness and very slow dining room service
