Annual anniversary trip. Great vibe and people on ship. NOT a floating nursing home. I would say she’s from mid 40’s thru 80’s. We sacrifice cabin class for Shore excursions and great meals. That’s us
Embarkation
5 out of 5
We arrived well before our scheduled time. It took 15 minutes. Very organized and quick. We were in our room an hour before we were scheduled to embark
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The MDR was outstanding. Smallish to normal portions, but the quality was great. We never left hungry. We ate most meals including breakfast and lunch on applicable days here
Buffer was average. There was a lot of choice which was different than I anticipated. The food was above average but not great. Pizza was really good
We planned on and did do the Chef’s Table with wine pairings. It was out of this world and worth every penny. 6 amazing courses with 6 outstanding wines. The chef and sommelier also came out before each course to discuss. Received a few other extras as well
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There were many offerings if interested. This was a port intensive trip so we just chilled by the pool on sea days. We did a few of the wine events that we paid for prior to the cruise. I don’t understand the complaints about this ship being boring.
They had tons of stuff to do if you wanted including interacting with the crew. Some lectures on the ports would of been nice but it was on the tv
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Did not go to shows, but heard from others they were fantastic, especially the aerial one. We had seen ibroadway before and liked it Tgrte was another singer, Shane H that did a show and performed around the ship that was phenomenal. Some of the bands were meh snd as good as others we have had on other ships.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
As usual, Celebrity staff was top notch. They were short staffed in bar and buffet areas, especially the popular ones, but had sommeliers and uniformed officers serving, taking orders and clearing tables. I’m one port, they did have extra staff get on and start training
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
From prior reviews, I was a little apprehensive about the condition of the ship. She does need some major updates. However, the ship is immaculate—-extremely clean. It’s not falling apart. There are many nicks and scrapes but they have no impact on the cruise. Personally, if someone is going to complain or be bothered by peeling paint and some scratches, thats on them
The Wi-Fi was wonderful about 25% of the time, adequate about 25% of the time and laughable for the rest. It served my purpose and I used the port Wi-Fi when off the ship
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Again, I was expecting something terrible from some reviews. Ours was beautiful. Oceanview. Very clean with new cabinetry and more than enough storage. Bathroom was fine also with lots of storage. No issues with showers or toilets
Ship tip
I had a ton of OBC for excursions. I would choose those labeled “small group discoveries” for the best experiences.
I did a wine tasting tour through Celebrity that was great. We also went to the red sand beach and black sand beach. At lunch at a place on the coast in the main town that was good. The views were incredible. It was a vey busy day with 7 or 8 ships in port. We waited a reasonable hour for the cable cars to get down.
I was upset about something I saw on the port and would never go back here but till that point it was a nice day
We watched the incredible sunset from the top deck of the ship
Arrived two days prior. Did Gaudi park and La Sagrada. Did a DYI tapas tour and the Boqueria market. Stayed right on las Rambles , which way 10 min to port but would not do that again
We did an excursion through Celebrity that was going for a cooking class at a private home. It was AWESOME. Very interactive and included lunch. Our host was extremely gracious and generous. One of the best days. Walked around awhile afterwards. Had ANOTHER lunch and bought a beautiful piece of handmade art from a local artist
Did a Celebrity excision to Portovennere and then a coastal cruise of Cinque Terra that ended in Monterosso where we walked around for awhile. We ate lunch at a fancy hotel restaurant with amazing views. Awesome day.
Excellent detailed review and so nice to see a positive attitude, getting more rare on here these days! Glad you enjoyed your cruise, sounds like a brilliant time
