Equinox = Excellency by PAULCPRETTYMANJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

We took the Amalfi Coast & Capri excursion thru Celebrity.  Even though it was pricey, it was well worth the coast.  Excellent tour guide, Umberto.  Also, the ship sponsored excursion to Florence was great with another excellent tour guide, who was very informative in regards history of this area.

Excellent Celebrity Cruise by Cruiser35995133

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

Dining room service and waiters were superb. Timing of shows in main theatre made it difficult to return from a day ashore and see a show as well as have dinner. The timings on previous cruises were much better.

I would certainly recommend the cruise

Excellent cruise by Cruiser34717559

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

This was our 1st cruise and couldn't fault it. The ship, facilities and especially the crew were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us. My husband really wasn't keen when I was planning the cruise (for a special birthday) but he is now 'hooked' on cruising and won't consider anything else for our future holiday. I would recommend Celebrity Cruises without hesitation.Big Smile

First Class Celebrity Equinox Cruise by jbabos

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We had a fabulous seven night cruise.  The Equinox is a beautiful ship, with superior staff and crew.  The only issue was weak entertainment, but we were very happy meeting people from different countries and just talking.

Beautiful Ship with lots to do and great destinations by cprovenz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

We had a blast on our trip! The ship is beautiful and everyone is so friendly. Celebrity changed the port from istanbul to athens after the attacks in june of 2016, so we were left to change our plans and books flights to athens, which they reimbursed us for. Hundreds of people went to istanbul first and then had tickets to get to athens, but then the military coup happened and we were left stranded. Celebrity did very little to help in this situation. Aside from that nightmare of an ordeal, the trip as awesome!

Great first cruise! by emman85

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was a great experience for our very first cruise. The staff was awesome! We would like to especially thank Michelle for our housekeeping, Omar and Antonine for our great dining experience, Marius and Jalena for our magnificent time at the World Class Bar we spent many nights here, and Happy at the sunset bar. They all made our experience very special. We will definitely be cruising again with Celebrity.

Wonderful Greece/Turkey Vacation by Survivor2014

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

I was extremely impressed with Celebrity Cruise line.  Everything was top notch from the staff to the shows.  They were very attentive to my needs.  This was my second time on the Equinox yet they keep it looking fresh and new.  The room is a little tight but being in concierge class there were fresh flowers in my room everyday.  The balcony is almost as large as the room.  I highly recommend this cruise.  The ports were perfect.  I only purchased the overpriced excursion in Kusadasi Turkey because of the greater sense of security it gave me.  You can do much better in each port in Greece by just buying a ticket on one of the buses that go around the town for $15 Euro, etc...

History made FUN by marodriguez1028

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Definitely recommend this cruise company/ship. From the moment one boards there's an array of activities, entertainment appropriate for any age group and gender, not to mention cultural cuisine. This itinerary channels a walk in early  civilization, either on your own or with the assured safety of tour. It's a historian dream! Once back from any excursion Equinox ship, recently dry docked appears to be renovated; its comfortable layout affords space suitable for every taste. And entertainment stands out from other cruise companies, superb quality! Cruise Director and staff exceeded expectations. Highly recommend this voyage where history, archeology merge with fun!

Trip of a lifetime! by pezhudson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The cruiseship was amazing!  They had everything you could need and no lines to wait in.  The stop in Toulon, France was just ok.  There isn't really much to see there, but it was ok since it was our first day and we were tired from traveling.

Celebrity Equinox is an amazing ship.  Their personnel is very friendly, attention to the passenger is great.  Our servers at the Silhoutte Restaurant could have not been any better or nicer.  Special recognition to Nemah, Slatko and out sommelier.

Celebrity Equinox exceptional vacation by Cruiser896

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

I am an experienced cruiser and the Equinox is the best ship I have been on. The staff in every department were knowledgable and friendly. My little group had a medical problem and a language problem which were addressed exceptionally well. The staff made sure my friend would be OK to continue on the trip by getting her the proper medical treatment in Greece. We made arrangements to change the dining time from main seating to Select dining for the group that needed Spanish since my waiters were fluent in Spanish. We were also able to have the same table and waiters since I needed special meal prep and they were familiar with my allergies. My meals were some of the best I have had on a cruise ship. The facilities were the cleanest I have ever seen, especially the rest rooms.  I will be travelling on this ship again it was so good.

The staff was amazing by robfurlani

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The staff made this cruise what it was. The following people all stood out.

Neil (room attendant) - Incredibly kind and helpful. A real pleasure to talk to and interact with. He was excellent at his job.

Juliia, (waitress) - Very kind and helpful, always had a big smile. Sociable and friendly. She was wonderful explaining the menu and made dining an excellent experience.

Sandeep (sommelier) - Sandeep was great at his job and even better at making our dining experience as enjoyable as possible. A truly nice person with a great memory of our drink orders. He was excellent.

Iputu (bartender at the Martini Bar) - The best bartender I have ever encountered. He took exceptional care of us whenever we went to the bar. He remembered our favorite drinks and was an all around awesome person. I cant recommend Iputut highly enough.

All around a great experience.

Very good by ewiley

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was my first cruise with Celebrity line. Booking via Hilton Honors was easy, but I found it difficult to decipher the different package options, which is best to review PRIOR to booking. The Celebrity website had a lot of server problems, and it was easier to call them directly to ask questions. I booked late but was able to obtain a Concierge class midship room (1104). The location was right off the library and was quiet. The room size and balcony size was more than adequate. Room was clean, and staff provided both morning and turndown service daily. The room stewards are great. The food I found fair. Breakfast buffet had omellates cooked to order in addition to the usual potatoes, pancakes, waffles, etc. I did order room service twice and it was delivered on time and was good, although warm instead of hot. Lunch buffet was ok. The quality could be improved. We ate dinner in the specialty restaurants 6/7 nights and the food there was very good, although very rich and fatty. Given this, I would be interested in the healthy alternative Resturant "Blu", that is only for aqua class guests. The Conciege class offered the balcony and reported priority with Resturant reservations plus early disembarkation from the ship. I did not find any particular advantage with the Conciege class, which is another reason I would consider Aqua Class on my next cruise. We booked the 5 dinner specialty package, which was worth it. Bear in mind, however, that you must dine twice in Silk Harvest (Asian), and then once in the Italian and once inte French Resturant. I did not realize the package was predetermined in this way, but the food was good in all 3 restaurants and worth it. We upgraded to a premium "Best" package that had prepaid tips, Internet, premium drinks, and also premium water (Evian). It was totally worth it, particularly because we got an on board credit of $300 that went towards our extra dinner and massages. The spa experience was fair. We went twice. First for a healthy feet leg massage that was standard. Second for a couples aromatherapy massage. The massage room we found too bright and not very relaxing as a result. Plain water was offered but nothing else (not even the fruit water that is offered all over the ship!) A massage does not include access to the steam room/sauna, which is an extra charge. The aromatherapy massage was a hot oil rub and nothing more. My husband commented that it was the worst massage he has had to date! Rather disappointing. Ship entertainment is ok. Poolside music and activities were kind of dull, the nighttime shows were more entertaining. They had several musical bands that, some of which were very good, and a few of which were just awful!

The ports of call were all beautiful and interesting: Athens, Santorini, Rhodes, Mykanos and Ephesus are all worthwhile stops. Tours offered with the cruise were expensive, and I found private tours for a similar price. I would shop around given this. Overall a nice cruise, shy from great but very good.

Greece/Turkey Cruise by rwpadgett

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

This was an excellent cruise-from the itinerary to the staff.  I can't say more about the staff-they were superb. The ship was easy to navigate and offered many activities-day and night.  We traveled with one family member who was 16 years old and she had a difficult time finding evening activities to attend because she had to be 18 years old to get into the dance areas.

Con sus altas y bajas by cmoyanor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Great itinerary and service staff. by tkamgiants

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Equinox / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

Officers were professional and accessible.  The Cruise Director was annoying in that he was seemingly obsessed by his nationality (Argentinian) and his height (short).  The shows were very good and working level staff were as good as on any cruise we have been on.
