Review summary

Was a great cruise with lots to do if you want. I didn't wear a mask, but we should have. So far, 5 out of 9 of us got covid on the trip. I would do it again though lol.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and easy, showed up early, boarded early.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining was delicious. Vivek was our head waiter. I think he was new because there were a couple missteps. However Julmus, the assistant waiter smoothed it all out and was a joy. Go see Marby in the Coffee bar. She took awesome care of us and me feel special.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Silent disco was a blast. Fitness center crowded.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Totally amazing shows. Something you would see in Vegas. If they have the after hours Frisky Feud, it was soo funny.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As i said above Marby in the coffee shop and Julmus in main dining are superstars.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Seems well laid out and clean. Could use a little tlc, some trim in cabin 6224 on the closet was broken as well as one of the hooks on the wall. But overall enjoyable.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Had some little maintenance issues, cosmetic only.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Beautiful city. We were not too pleased with getting there at 4pm, lots of excursions were limited.

Nassau, Bahamas

People in our group got scammed by the bracelet lady for $40! I tried to warn them. The upside was the water was crystal clear.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Locals were great. Walked off and did a "safari " bus tour. Paid 25/person.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
Good Port, easy in easy out.took a Lyft from the airport with little to no wait time.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

4 out of 5
Lots of construction. Did another "safari " horrible driver. I felf like i was on a rollercoaster at six flags, not in a good way.

I got off the Royal Princess on June 18. I also came down with Covid the day I got home. We had to wear masks on the ship and they cleaned it from top to bottom constantly. There were hand washing stations and sanitizers everywhere. Everyone was vaccinated and I was boosted. And we had to provide a negative Covid test at boarding. However, none of the drivers or guides on the excursions and most of the people on the busses or vans didn’t wear a mask. I think that’s where I got Covid. The last excursion we took before disembarking. Thankfully I didn’t show symptoms in the ship. I would not have wanted to quarantine in Anchorage. My friend traveling with be also got it. Great trip otherwise.
