Review summary

We thoroughly enjoyed it! Again, hats off to the Equinox crew! They were amazing and we wanted for nothing the whole trip!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We had a scheduled time to board and the process was quick, easy and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Hand down, this is one of the things Celebrity does really well! The food and choices we're abundant and delicious. As for the the staff, the Equinox equinox team delivered the best service of any cruise I've ever been on previously. It was fantastic!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We generally like to relax on the pool deck during sea days. That said there we're always two to three daily activities that we enjoyed participating in.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The evening shows (especially the guest entertainers) delivered surprisingly solid entertainment throughout the cruise. We went to the show almost every night after dinner and enjoyed ourselves.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Let me be 100% clear on this, the Equinox staff deserves huge praise! They are perhaps the best crew I've ever sailed with period! Hands down, the service we experienced has set the bar for all future cruises! The hardest part of our vacation coming to an end was saying goodbye to the crew!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship was kept very clean and all areas seemed to be well attended. I saw them disinfecting the public restrooms frequently and wiping down the staircase handrails, etc.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The only complaint I have about the cabin was the bed mattress. That said, we're used to sleeping on a Tempur-Pedic at home, but we've stayed in nice hotels that offer comfortable beds and I see no reason why Cruises can't offer better mattresses. Aside for this, the cabin had everything else we needed and was nice.

Ship tip

Our ship was at half capacity. 1400 guest vs. 2800 when fully occupied. It was amazing to sail at this capacity. We never waited for anything and it didn't matter what time you hit the pool deck, you could find a decent spot to setup for the day. I've never experienced cruising like this before an it was amazing! Get out there and enjoy it now, I suspect it won't be long before passenger loads are back at 100%.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Due to the time of year (Spring Break) it was a little overrun with people and our hotel room the night before was hard to find and expensive, even when booked in advance.

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

This should not be a cruise stop. It was dirty, not much going on around the ship and the nearby beach had sharp volcanic rock. I was very disappointed with this port of call.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

We rented a scooter for the day and did a self paced tour of the island. It was fantastic. We used SunnyBlue Rentals. Great experinece.

Castries, St. Lucia

We took a taxi around the island, it was clearly not in the best of shape and still recovering from Covid and a previous hurricane. Even worse, the Equinox docked at a freight terminal and they were actively loading a container ship. It was noisy the whole day.

St. George's, Grenada

Did a beach day here and it was great. There was a water taxi right next to the cruise dock that shuttle folks to the beach for $5.00 each way. Chair and umbrella rentals were abundant and cost between $15-20 depending on whom you rent from.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Another nice stop and beach day. We went to the Boatyard Beach club for the day. It was a 5 minute cab ride from the cruise pier and for $30 a head ($60 per couple) you got a welcome drink and free shuttle back to the ship. Beach was excellent and plenty of watersports options available.

Roseau, Dominica

5 out of 5
We did the waterfall and tubing excursion and it was great. We got to ride through the rainforest and tubing was well guided and organized. My wife really enjoyed this excursion,

St. John's, Antigua

5 out of 5
This was the nicest port of them all. Great shopping and entertainment options right off the boat. Lots of nearby beaches. We really enjoyed this port of call.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
As with embarking, we quickly disembarked without any issues or hassles. It was fast and smooth.
