Review summary

We were very disappointed with the average age of the guests....too old, would not recommend for anyone under 75 (not kidding).Ship activities were less than inviting. Ship was beautiful and service and friendlyness of staff was outstanding.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Menu selections were numerous and all were delicious. Morano specialty restaurant was very enjoyable. My only compliant is that the deserts were not good. Little flavor.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Black jack tournament was fun, Deal or No Deal game was stupid and a waste of money.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Ship bands were mediocre. In the Sky Line Lounge they would play for one hour and then turn it over to a DJ, who was less than mediocre. The stage show LIFE was tremendous.

Cabin / Stateroom

Revilon, our stateroom attendant was wonderful and took great care of us and our room. Enjoyed the larger bathroom and shower, however the room needed more drawers or shelves to store clothes and souvenirs.

Ship tip

The age demographics were old, older and sleeping. Not much of a "fun" crowd.

Ports of call

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

St. John's, Antigua

Took excursion of a catamaran sail around the island, a snorkel, lunch and a swim from the boat. It was a excellent excurion...of course the rum punch helped.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Castries, St. Lucia

St. George's, Grenada

Roseau, Dominica

We took an excursion that took us to the Atlantic Ocean and then to the Champagne Reef for snorkeling. Would recommend the excursion eliminate the Atlantic Ocean drive and devote entire time to snorkel.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Demographics change based on season too. We’ve sailed with a lot of younger people.

Anytime I've heard someone say a game was, "stupid and a waste of money" they were just sore losers. Some people just can't see the value of something above their ability to dominate. I assume that explains the senior bashing as well.

Funny; when I sailed on the Equinox in the summer of 2019 I did see a fair number of older people (svooters were common) I was *actually* surprised by the number of tweens and teens. In the end I had fun. But yes the lack of activities was noticeable (and only one band was fairly blah), but then again, I had an excursion in every port so I spent most of my time on the ship after 4p. The sea days were frustrating because everything was crowded. I LOVE the Hot Glass Studio!

there are pluses to sailing with older cruisers, in theory and I think in practice they use less resources on the ship thus making for shorter lines everywhere. the downside is if the cruise director dials down the activities and nightlife.

I never sailed with them but I kinda thought it was definitely for older folks.

Sorry to hear this. We're doing the same cruise in April. We're 65 but enjoy younger cruisers. I'm still looking forward to the itinerary which is all new for us.

Research can make or break a cruise before it even gets started. If you dont, don't, a little you xan find that you are missing out. Sorry it wasn't as "fun" as you hoped

Appreciate your feedback. Agree with others about age and cruise ships.

Age is what you make of it. I'm 70+ and try not to slow down. I've watched too many people (on a cruise or not) say "I'm too old to do that." Enjoy yourself and do what you can and want to do. Focus on what you want to do instead of what someone else says you shouldn't. Cruising is a great way to experience some of the things you can't do near home.

I’m 40, and I really enjoy traveling with people of all ages. If you talk to older people, they have a lot more interesting stories than people my age or younger. I make my own fun. Celebrity is really laid back, yet fancy.

Glad you enjoyed most of it. It’s always a good idea to research the type of passengers / environment to expect when booking. Celebrity, Princess and Holland America tend to have an older crowd and a more subdued atmosphere. Carnival, Royal Caribbean or NCL may provide the experience you are looking for.
