Overall a great trip. Only complaint is less Nassau, more Tortola.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fastest Ever! Scanned express pass on our phones, then facial recognition, then on board. Maybe a max of 10 minutes after walking in the door to the terminal?
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We actually enjoyed the food in the Ocean View Cafe better than the food in the specialty restaurants or MDR if you can believe that. We did Tuscan Grill and it was good, but the filets were small. We did Qsine and it was entertaining, but the menu was very limited. We did the MDR one night and it was better than other cruise line MDR experiences. However, the variety and the quality of the options in the buffet area stand far above the other cruise lines in our opinion. This was our 25th cruise.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Celebrity is a chill cruise with a slightly older crowd. Unfortunately that means there's a lot less going on aboard the ship. Second time on Celebrity and the same experience. They roll up the carpets early in the evening.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The Captain was great. Very entertaining announcements in the morning. CD was entertaining and the Journey tribute band was good, but we didn't see another show the entire week. They don't promote them and it's easy to miss them if you aren't reading the dailies.
Children's Programs
We don't have little children and you don't see many of them on this ship. It was Christmas and there weren't that many. Normally on Christmas you are inundated with kids everywhere, but not this time.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Celebrity staff are for the most part excellent all the way around. The casino and martini bar had their down moments in terms of service, but aside from that everything was excellent.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship's layout is excellent. We still think the lawn club area is a waste of space, but otherwise we love the ship. Could use more deck space for loungers as the chair pigs were out on sea days saving chairs but of course nowhere to be found. Both the Equinox and the Silhouette were beautiful ships.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The bed was very comfortable. Decent sized shower with glass door and bathroom storage. Extra large balcony, which we really didn't utilize.
Ship tip
Embarkation was the fastest of any cruise we've ever done! The ship is very nice and we had fun, but this is not a party ship. Celebrity still dresses in the evening, so bring at least business casual or resort wear clothing. Tip for smokers, two of our friends smoked and it was kind of sad to see that smokers are confined to three little areas of the ship located at the Mast Bar, Sunset Bar starboard and deck 5 starboard.
Took the excursion to Jost Van Dyke. The overall time in port for Tortola is way too short and in the future we'll be shopping for cruises that provide an extended time in this port.
Same old, same old. Not a bad stop for new comers due to Atlantis and Blue Lagoon, but for anyone who's been there a few times, ugh... We would love to see more time on the other islands and simply skip this port all together. Unlike the other islands, they don't seem all that happy to have us there in the first place.
Disembarkation is never smooth, no matter what cruise line. Tip - there were lots of people who disembarked the ship ahead of their allotted time and found themselves still standing in the terminal quite some time later because the section for their luggage tag number had not yet been cleared by customs. The process may have gone much quicker and smoother if these people who cheat their way through life could have just waited till their number was called. It appeared that Celebrity releases the luggage in the order of the tags that are called and not sooner, so you don't gain anything by jumping the line.
Love the relaxed chill vibe on celebrity ships as a 30 year old. Not looking to party hard. Entertainment is good. I like to walk the outer decks late at night. Its peaceful. I would suggest next time you encounter a sunlounger with a book on it to just pick up the book sit down and read until its owner comes back. Thats what im going to start doing.
