Review summary

We will definitely sail this vessel again on a longer cruise. Everything a cruise vacation is supposed to be. Well done staff of the Equinox!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
From the hotel shuttle to the deck of the Equinox...ten minutes. Ft. Lauderdale really has embarkation down to a science.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We had a three day specialty dining package and elected to dine At Tuscan twice and Murano once. Very good! The food and service was outstanding. I read somewhere that if you had a table for two in the main dining room, the other tables were close. I did find that to be true. Four inches between tables wasn’t enough for privacy. It didn’t wreck out vacation, but we chose not to return to the main dining room. The buffet had everything we wanted or needed. Service was wonderful and finding seating wasn’t an issue. We had table side prepared lobster in Murano by out waiter and it was superb!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We really relaxed and did activities on our own pace. The ship was clean and the staff very helpful.

What we went to were fine.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward in 8338 (Sunset Veranda) was phenomenal! He catered to our every wish.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Equinox is very well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

The views from an aft cabin are breathtaking. I would book this cabin again in a heartbeat!

Ship tip

There is a reason Equinox is rated so highly. They know what they are doing! Do not hesitate to book this vessel.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

We stayed at the Rodeway Inn Airport/Seaport. Clean, good staff. Breakfast was good. I can’t say that about the dinner. How bad can you wreck a hamburger? Today’s go to menu is all Tex-Mex (taco’s etc.), I’m not a fan. I ordered a hamburger rare. Let’s put it this way...next time I’ll stay in the room and eat peanut butter and jelly.

San Juan, Puerto Rico Did not visit port

We elected to remain on the ship. We’ve been there many times before.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
This also is a port we have been to before so we elected to take the excursion to St. John’s. I highly recommend it. Very informative and interesting.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
We went exploring on our own and figured we’d kick into their economy. There was a young man preforming in the square that was very good. We enjoyed ourselves.

Nassau, Bahamas Did not visit port

We stayed on the ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Facial recognition is fantastic. Simple to disembark. Again, Ft. Lauderdale knows what they are doing.
