Celebrity Equinox

Ship: Celebrity Equinox

Cabin number: 8343

Review summary

The best of my six cruises in total. The ship was so huge that it barely swayed at all. Unless you are very prone to motion sickness, you should not even worry about it. Our cabin was all the way to the aft of the ship with a huge balcony.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Smooth but there were just too many people coming at the same time.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining rooms and specialty restaurants served excellent food. Buffets served very good food. However, getting an omelette took sometime as there were just too many people and there was not a clear line.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We did glass blowing and it was a very good experience. The pools were very crowded but otherwise very nice.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the live bands. Very good musicians and singers. Thumbs up.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Could not ask for more.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
This is our 6th cruise and the best ship we have been on, better than the previous Celebrity Cruises ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The shower cubicle was bigger than on any other of our previous cruises. Cabin was just great from any angle.

Ship tip

Make sure you spend the extra money on the specialty dining. We went to Murano and Sushi O Five and let me tell you the food was worth every dime we spent.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

5 out of 5
We did not go on excursion but went on our own and found the city full of vibrancy. Thinking of doing just Fort Lauderdale by itself.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Could see how beautiful this port was. We did horseback riding. I did not enjoy it though. My horse was slow and a bit difficult to control.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Went on our own and found the city lovely. Did not find the so-called duty-free prices good. You can get any of these expensive items back in the US (especially online) for much less. Do not be deceived by the words 'duty-free'. They may be duty-free but obviously not profit-free.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
Virgin Gorda was awesome. Make sure you keep your money and valuables in a water-proof bag when you will swim. Apply plenty of sun screen as the sun was really hot.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
The swim at Blue Lagoon island with the dolphins was well worth the money. It's expensive, and you must buy your photos from the official photographer.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We waited until pretty much the last minute. Smoother than embarkation.

You have pictures of balcony? We will be staying in same stateroom in November, is it far from elevators? quiet? Any other details you can provide would be appreciated.
