Review summary

I sailed on Royal Caribbean and Holland America. They are by far a superior cruise line and vessel for the reasons listed above.

Food and Dining

Food was ok except for shrimp cocktail. Shrimp were warm and slimy. My sister was the only one to eat a shrimp cocktail one evening in the dining room. She became extremely ill during the night and had to go to medical. She was confined to quarters for 24 hours.

Service and Staff

When I boarded the ship I ask 9 different ship personnel directions to my cabin. I was in cabin 2157 on Deck 12. No one new where my cabin was. Some even sent me to Deck 10 and 11. I called Guest Services many times for help and no one answered the phone. I was put in a cue to be answered by the next available agent. No one ever answered the cue.

Ship Quality

The halls smelled of sweat and dust.

I was on this same cruise and I thought the food was excellent - much better than Royal Carribean. I also found the ship to be pretty clean and comfortable. The cabin numbering is a bit confusing - we got lost until we figured it out. All in all, I thought it was a great cruise, the staff were friendly, enjoyed the sports, and Capt. Kate was great.

I’m pretty sure when you get off of the elevator there are signs showing where rooms are located in the smelly halls. Funny, I was on the Equinox in January. It never smelt to me. The staff was always helpful. Maybe a kind way of asking may help???
