Celebrity Equinox

10 Night Eastern Mediterranean (Rome Roundtrip)

Sail date: November 18, 2011

Ship: Celebrity Equinox

Cabin type: Balcony

Traveled as: Couple

Reviewed: 12 years ago

Review summary

New and Fresh ship, very modern. No Promanade Deck. A couple of "wasted spaces, such as the Wine Cellar venue and Wiskey Bar...nobody seems to use those. No Piano Player???..most cruise ships have an inter-active sing-along piano bar venue, but not this one.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Pretty salty an rich-sauced food items. More healthy-choice items would be an improvement. The menu got pretty boring towards the end of our 10-day cruise.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
No a lot to do onboard during the day. More tours of the ship's bridge, engineering, etc..., would be better. N0 Navigation Classes or other technical stuff was offered. More cooking classes or other inter-active learning programs would be an improvement.

Ports of call

Souda (Chania), Crete

Messina, Sicily

5 out of 5
Don't Miss: Taormina

Rhodes, Greece

5 out of 5
Don't Miss: the walled City...interior and exterior, easy to walk the perimeter

Valletta, Malta

5 out of 5

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

3 out of 5
As another big, dirty and dusty city, this would not be worth visiting except for the Acropolis.
Don't Miss: Acropolis

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
Naples itself was not a very intersting destination. And the City is filthy dirty...very unpleasant to walk around. But it worked well as a "jumping-off point" to Capri and Pompei
Don't Miss: Pompei

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

5 out of 5
Don't Miss: Ephesus

Pros: Dining Staff, Cabin Stewards, Destination Ports

Cons: Food was salty..to many
