Identical to Millenium, food not quite as good. by Michigangirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Having sailed on Celebrity Millenium about a year ago, I was very familiar with the ship design and layout on Constellation. The experiences were very similar and positive in most aspects, but we did feel the food on board the Constellation was not quite as good. Not a big deal, we still enjoyed our meals. Just slightly less inspired. Everything else was very satisfactory.

Constellation a worthy experience! by Cmdjbi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We took the Constellation from Miami on the western Caribbean route going to Cozumel and Roatan. the boat and its staff are excellent. We specifically enjoyed the Ocean liners specialty restaurant. The food quality and service are both fantastic at this restaurant. I would highly recommend paying the extra to have this high quality dining experience. We liked it so much we ate there twice! Get the table side Lobster! As for negatives we did not eat in the dining room. I find this with almost every cruise line though. Dining rooms are dead and ships should do away with them and add more restaurants! the food always comes out cold and the experience is very low quality as most mass prepared food offerings usually are. We also found the entertainment to be very average on this ship. In the end the boat has great staff, good restaurants, lots to do and a very nice environment! We found Roatan to be pretty boring if you are not a diver, but Cozumel was fun. we rented a jeep and explored on our own. we did a Tequila tasting, explored the ruins, went to some deserted beaches and had a nice meal at Poncho's backyard (highly recommend this for Mexican food!)

water, water everywhere by breezy51

I found that if I didn't get out on deck very early I would not be able to find a deck chair. There was a lot of holding of chairs while the occupants were elsewhere. In order to be outside I spent my outside time sitting in the dining areas. Goood variety in food choices. Would have loved to have more seafood dishes. Stateroom beds were hard not comfortable.

Quick trip by Tripwithfriends

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Booked spur of the moment so took availability of inside cabin when we usually do balcony. Celebrity and Holland America are my favorite lines and Celebrity didn't disappoint me. The staff, food, cleanliness are A+. Liked the broadway type musicals-best I've seen on board. Didn't like the magician or comic. Cozumal is nice shopping port, but Roatan needs alot of work.I will support funding for anti-poverty works more now that I've seen the poverty.

Bahama Mamas by cruzenkaren

Part of our party were turned away at the gate, did not have proper I D how much proof do you need to prove who you are? Check in was smooth for those who got on, Sailing was a little rough due to a storm but the food was great and the service was excellent. Staff was very friendly and helpful. No pizza after 1:00 PM that was sad. Beds were very comfortable and the room was well taken care of, no towel animals on our bed, missed that.

Some disappointments by brunodog

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We enjoyed the cruise very much. The food was superb, in particular, the brunch. The entertainment was excellent, in particular, the comedian. However, the mattress & bed linens were disgusting. The mattress was old & hurt my back & the pillows should be tossed. They had a very bad odor & were all stained. There were blood stains & coffee stains on my sheets as well. The bathroom also needs some upgrading. I hardly slept due to these conditions. The room was stuffy & emitted the same odor as the pillows & was truly sickening. On the good side, the rest of the cruise was great. My husband & I heard similar complaints from others in the elevators & by the pool. We have been on Celebrity before back in 2005 to Italy & the beds were not at all like this. We would like to consider another cruise, but not until we are assured that the bedding has been replaced & new linens & pillows are available. I would like to add that the courtesy of wheelchair users be enhanced & implemented for all users of handicap equipment. They should be the first on & the first off, which was not the case with my husband. I do not mean to be critical, however, constructive criticism is & should be welcomed. Again, we had an enjoyable cruise except for the above mentioned & were glad we didn't have to spend a lot of time in our cabin. Thank you & hope that some consideration will be given to the suggestions stated.

Great trip by Enjoyable

The staff was very friendly and attentive. For an older ship It was very clean and we enjoyed the layout of the ship. Food lines were not long, dining room service and food was very good and the cabin staff and cabin was also outstanding. Drink prices were reasonably and they did not cheap up the pour. Very much enjoyed the diverse music and It was available for dancing before and after meals. Over 20 cruises and this was one of our best. Need new mattresses.

Great cruise on Celebrity Constellation by MommaBear

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Seven in our extended family took a 5 night cruise out of Miami with stops in Cozumel and Honduras. Our biggest complaint is that the cruise was not longer. The ship was in great condition, the entertainment fun and we were lucky enough to have the same table and wait staff at every dinner even though we were on the select dining plan. I owuld have liked to have more daily variety in the buffet, but the food was still good. Loved the sushi every evening- we would stop there for apps and music before going on to dinner.

Left Much to be Desired by FreqFloaters

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our third cruise with Celebrity and our most disappointing by far. I'll keep this brief: 1) We had sewer gas in our bathroom and in various places in the corridors of the ship. They obviously have a venting problem with their sewer system. 2) Our toilet leaked water under the bowl where it attached to the wall. We thought we were having leakage problems from the shower but discovered a couple days into our cruise that it was from the toilet that we had been standing in! 3) The tiles were lifting from the floor in a few areas and when you walked into the bathroom, "water" oozed out from under the tiles. 4) The Captains Club lounge manager made a rude and insulting remark to my wife which was thoroughly embarrassing in front of our friends and other cruise passengers. Totally uncalled for. That woman should be fired! 5) The Entertainment Director tried but just didn't seem like a good fit for the job. We had a better director on Royal Caribbean and all the other Celebrity cruises we took in the past. 6) There was no brunch on this cruise, unlike the other Celebrity cruises we had taken in the past with the same routing. Is Celebrity cutting corners?? 7) Service seemed inconsistent throughout the ship, and the staff seemed to be shorthanded and/or very inexperienced. We love Celebrity Cruises and already have another cruise booked with them on a different ship, but we would NEVER travel on this ship (Constellation) again. Buyer Beware!

Transatlantic Delight by ohmranger1

Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Transatlantic

First cruise on Celebrity, wont be our last either, we had a wonderful time. The food was the best we've eaten for dinner. Every steak was served, as requested, warm and juicy. Fresh brewed coffee everywhere and paper travel cups if you moved about. Stateroom seemed larger than listed, loved the terry bath robes.

Although the Constellation is not the newest ship, it it well maintained bur could use some refurbishing. Overall the food was good and had plenty of variety. The staff was friendly was helpful. As second time cruisers, our expectations of the cruise were met.

Not up to Celebrilty's Standards by GeraldR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

The previous cruise had some medical issues, so we were subjected to enhanced cleaning standards...I think this gave some of the crew an excuse to slight some of the details that Celebrity is known for...I never got a water pitcher in my cabin, for example; had to ask for laundry bags and for my Captain's Club coupons. While it was enjoyable and the Constellation is a very nice ship, the cruise simply was not up to Celebrity's standards. It won't make me avoid Celebrity, but it didnl't leave me jumping for joy either.

Going back to Princess by MariaT

The ship size was very good for many reasons. Not too big and not too small. It never felt crowded. The ship needs a major over haul as it is looking very tired in many places.

Average Cruiser by Q1Traveler

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Europe - Northern Europe

Cruise ship is well equipped but that crew is very cautious about sanitizing in all food handling to customers. Flu seasons around November so many seniors were sick and cough...need to offer classes for sickness prevention as well as mouth mask for germ spores spreading while coughing in public.
