This cruise ship was the worst by far. The service was very bad. We could hardly get someone to wait on us never a smile or a thank you. The food in the dinning room taste like it was out of a package nothing was good at the dinning room my husband ran out of tea every night and water and the guy was never around to fill up his glass. I was in the casino and not 1 waiter came by to see if I wanted something to drink. The shows were like a B rated movie terrible. I was at the martini bar and my card was thrown in the water instead of handed to me. Room service was always a 2 hour wait so you starved if you wanted to eat in your room or feel asleep while you waited. I will never go on this cruise line again. Carnival has them beat by far. Sincerely, Kim Sifford

First time cruising. by cwngm030215

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall our cruise was very nice. Although the ship was small, there was not alot to do while at sea. But the evenings and shows were very good.

We would go on another cruise but just maybe on a much bigger ship with more stops at different ports and more than just pool activities during cruising times.

Celebrity Constellation Cruise by beachcakes993

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was the perfect cruise at the perfect time for my husband and I.  The ship was very accommodating and the service was 5 star!  The food, entertainment, and staterooms were excellent and I plan on returning again as soon as possible.  Thank you Teresa for helping us with all our questions and making it an easy trip!  Sincerely, Mark and Mary Kay

Cruisin' Memories by suzannej1023

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

The cruise itself was wonderful - the ports were un-memorable. The staff on the Constellation was phenomenal - always had a smile and were ready to help - above and beyond. Our waiter in the dining room was Iranto (that is a poor stab at his name) He was from Indonesia and he was truly a credit to Celebrity. The service was the best. My only criticism would be that the food was not always hot and I even had to send one meal back because it was just too cold to enjoy. I have only been on a few cruises but will definitely seek out Celebrity when I plan my next one.  I have a credit of $104.47 and i trust this will be credited to my card - if not I will be growling at you soon!!  Dean did a wonderful job of coordinating our cruise and to sum it up, it was a very positive experience.

FLUSHING TOILET? by ALWAYSGOING53

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I am a seasoned traveler.  I have cruised at least 5 times every year for the past 6 years.  IF YOU GET INTO YOUR ROOM AND THE TOILET DOES NOT "FLUSH" GO IMMEDIATELY TO CUSTOMER SERVICES AND CHANGE ROOM.  On my recent trip on the CONSTELLATION, I had to call maintenance 7 times.  Having to seek "PUBLIC RESTROOMS" FIRST THING IN THE MORNING.  This is the first time I have experienced this problem.  Besides this problem....food was good, entertainment  "OK" and room was clean and spacious.

" How to have a wonderful vacation" by glfoland

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Excellent service, polite especially from our table hostess, Bianca, absolutely WONDERFUL she made the cruise excellent.  Food was good, and plenty of it, too much, my fault.  Shows were "clean" and enjoyable by all of us.

The only  item that made it somewhat difficult is that after show and time in the reflection room, there was no coffee, juice water available  in that area.  Had to go to other end of ship for items which was difficult for a couple who could not walk it.  Some simple refreshments in that area would be great and convenient.

Unsatisfactory by aFloridaCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was our first cruise with Celebrity and the probability of cruising with them again is NOT!!

There were many unfriendly and grumpy employees along with fewer extremely friendly and pleasant ones. Our cabin steward came to our room as we were unpacking and introduced himself and after that never saw him again. I took pictures of the dirty bathroom floor and ragged towels we were given which I will send to the cruise lines.

The two main shows were very professional and were enjoyed along with the violinists who were fantastic!!

The Buffet on deck 10 had issues. Most of the Ice Machines were 'temporally out of order' for the entire cruise, the food areas were unorganized. People coming in from both sides. Especially when food items were being individually made to order. I stood in line for an omelet and never got waited on because people were coming in from both sides. Waited over 10 mins then left.

We could not get anything to drink anywhere on the ship except on deck 10. Everyplace had a charge for water or coffee. One could get a pastry or cookie but had to pay for coffee. The Bistro had a 7 dollar cover charge for crepes. They quarter and dollared you to death.

The dining room experience was different. the food was good. Creme Brulee was exceptional and our two servers was the best ever. They were respectful, personable, friendly and knew what we wanted and needed before we did. Cuties. We had twelve in our party and were treated royally. We were fortunate to have these great servers as we observed the glum faces of the other servers around the room.

Before we booked the cruise. We were told that Celebrity was a cut above the other cruise lines so we expected more since we had been on many other lines and had something to compare it to. However I feel it is many cuts below.

If you are an experienced Cruiser - Don't bother with this OLD ship! by djbranda

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If you are an experienced Cruiser - Don't bother with this OLD ship!  I have cruised with RCL, NCL, Carnival and Celebrity Solstice and will NOT do the Constellation ever and would NOT recommend it.  Our Waiters, OLMAN and CARLINGTON WERE FANTASTIC!!!  Our Room Stewards, CRUZ and DANILO were Very Good!!  The Days at sea on OTHER PREVIOUS cruises there were many activities to do besides Swim, Gamble or Play Bingo - For example, things that didn't cost extra but were very interesting were "Back Stage tour with display of costumes and meeting one or two of the performers", Back stage special areas Ship Tour - Very interesting, Towel folding demonstration - fun to see how they make them then they would help guests make an animal (When asking the activities Director he said that ALL ships - due to costs - have eliminated these; I will take another cruise in the future with Carnival or NCL and check this out as these things are not a BIG cost to YOU, but are enjoyable to guests!).  I was very disappointed that we only got one night (per our room steward) which was dress up or Captain's night that we got a TOWEL ANIMAL in our room.  On Carnival, RCL, NCL and Solstice we had animals every night and I had told my room mate what a JOY it was to come back to the room and see what animal they made that night!  I asked our Room Steward to please make us another one so my room mate could at least see two animals.  It was a very big disappointment!  There have also been Ice Carving Demonstrations, Fruit (Watermelon, Honeydew, Cantaloupe) carving demonstrations, Midnight Chocolate Buffet - YUM, Chef unique hors d'oeuvre making/tasting and other fun events during the day - YOUR days at sea were not slated with much.   Being an older ship and only one double-open automatic door on the Oceanview Cafe it was very difficult getting out on deck 4 without assistance - wind pushing against the door was VERY hard to push and pull as they do not have automatic doors.  The days at sea I was glad I brought a book and some games, I was VERY disappointed with the lack of activities.  I did find out that they had crepe making from another guest and I would have attended that but was so disappointed that they didn't have ANY of the other activities I had told my room mate about we had done on 6 previous cruises that it really didn't matter.  When we talked to the Guest Relations Desk and Activities Director about these they said it was to CUT expenses of hiring additional people, it doesn't cost that much more for people who are already employed by the cruise lines like Room Stewards - to take 1 hour for 2 people to do a demonstration on towel animal making or one of the performers to take an hour to give a small tour of the dressing rooms, behind stage costumes and answer a few questions from guests in groups of 18-20.  These people are already on board and I am sure if asked to work a 1 hr shift for one day at sea, someone would do it.  It was always on a first come first served basis and that is why I asked the first day we boarded.  Offering these activities DOES NOT require hiring MORE personnel but may require adding an additional paragraph to their contract to ask if they would work one or the other day at sea on these informative tours / demonstrations. I can also say that many questions that were asked, like "Where do I go to pick up my Diamonds International merchandise?" that Guest Relations didn't know.  They called down to deck 1 to ask and they did call my room 1/2 hour later, but this is a BASIC question that they should know the answer to - ANSWER "It will be delivered to your room when you call..."  You should have a "List of FREQUENTLY asked questions" that they can access on their computer.

The first day we had spoiled milk in our coffee - curdled.  The sliced beef on the buffet for lunch could not be cut easily, so asked for a sharper knife and no steak knives were available on Deck 10 - Oceanview Cafe - so one of the waiters tried to cut my beef, but could only manage to "pull" pieces apart.  He agreed it was a bit tough.  My roommate got a Beef Kabob and it was so over cooked she could not pull it off the skewer, cut it off, bite it off - even with a napkin - it was not FIT for a DOG!  The main Dining Room food on 4 and 5 "San Marco" was good,

In Closing I would like to recommend OLMAN and CARLINGTON our Dining Room Waiters for Employee of the Month for March for their SUPERB service, attention to detail, friendliness and efficiency.  Also our Room Stewards - CRUZ and DANILO would always open our door if they were around when we returned and kept our room in excellent condition, got us ice quickly when requested, another newsletter, etc. and helped me plug my scooter in when I needed to recharge it.  They too deserve employee of the Month award!!

Super by glowie5

Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was so pleased that there was Mass celebrated on our cruise.  Also I could not have asked for anything better, the service, food,  accommodations and entertainment was ALL excellent.  The only problem is that I wish it were longer. I loved the size of the ship and as I said before, we couldn't have asked for better service.  I would tell anyone toe go on the Celebrity Constellation Ship .  But I do have a few minor complaints, one being there was not lobster served in the dinning room and I know that at home I do not change my sheets every night, but then I'm not paying a price, I thought you could at least change the sheets every other night.

I was happy that Mass was celebrated on the ship.

Wonderful experience by edmar1234

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a fun time and met some wonderful people on this excellent cruise.  We had never been to Key West and was very impressed.   This was our second time in Cozumel and enjoyed it again.   For anyone wanting a short fun vacation this fits the bill.   We were a little disappointed by the food in the dining room as we didn't find it up to the standards we have had on previous Celebrity cruises.

A Little Less Than Expected by tobren123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was cruise #12 for me and the other 11 have all been on Royal Caribbean. I thought since Celebrity was owned by RCCl, that it should be a comparable cruise experience. Unfortunately,  it was not. The rooms and ship in general were not as clean, the food was good, but not on the same level as RCCL. I have always looked forward to quality entertainment, however we left after about 20 minutes of each nightly show beginning. The ships "production staff" reminded us of attending a high school musical. There were very few things to do on board during "at sea" days, and any on board shopping wishes were dashed with very high prices. We had a good time, but we went for the sole purpose of relaxing and not really wanting for a lot to do, but we will definately stick with RCCL from now on!

Needed a better variety of food in the main dinning room and better entertainment.

Drink packages were way to high. Individual drinks were to pricy also.

great vacation by sandrabogan

Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our first time on Celebrity.  Service was good especially our nightly waiter, Walter and his assistants, as well as our stateroom attendentt, Diane.  There were enough activities to keep you occupied if that is what you wanted.  A great gym with up-dated equipment was available, as well as a spa.  Would definetly go Celebrity against.

Very Good by dugganstevec

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Everything about the cruise was top notch, our cabin attendants were great, our cabin was super especially the balcony.  We were on the Aqua Class deck and our dining restaurant was the Blue restaurant.  The food was superb and the staff was too.  We also dined at Ocean Liner, beautiful restaurant and 5 star cuisine and service.  We enjoyed the Ocean Deck for breakfast and lunch and there are so many choices available to eat (something for everyone).  My husband especially loved the smoked salmon.  If I had one concern it was with the Canyon Ranch Spa.  They do not have enough salon/nail techs available.  Twice I tried to get a manicure and without making an appointment ahead of time I was out of luck.  The salon is not staffed for drop in service.   Other than that we will definitely cruise with Celebrity again.

Very Quite Days...Boring! by jdavidfp

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

With all respect the cruise 95 % were 85 and older.

Nothing to do at night, and the shows are boring compared with other cruise lines I've been. If you are between 18 and 45 years old do not do this cruise... at least the months of January & Feb. Aqua class is like another balcony room, nothing different...Spa service and front desk guy sad and bad face all day...no smiles at all..well, I have tried many cruise lines and this one the last one on my list.

EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE AND FOOD by VincentGeVince

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Celebrity Constellation / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I only have time to review the highlights of the poor service as there were too too many to discuss.

1. Most personnel were barely able to speak English--most could not answer questions (nor even understood the ques).

2, In the specialty restaurant (OceanLiner)  I ordered a drink ( a SIDECAR) and the waiter smiled at me and thought I was joking. I explained to him 3 times what a Sidecar was but he never delivered the drink. I eventually asked the Head Waiter and he said the waiter thought I was joking. Food was average.

3. Food and service in Tuscan Grill (specialty rest) was excellent and so was the service. All other restaurants were mediocre.

4. The Spa--I asked an attendent to show me how to turn on the steam in the steamroom and she wasn't sure. I told her there were no knows to turn on the steam. She looked but wasn't sure what to do. She said she would check out front and return but she never did. I then asked a 2nd attendant and he said the controls were at the front desk and he turned on the steam. There were no sign to indicate this.

In the mens locker room, bathrobes were to be in the lockers (they were on the 1st day). On other days  no bathrobes in lockers. I asked an attendant for one and he gave me a belt for the robe but no robe. I eventually found one myself.

5. Cabin attendant--We had to ask him on 4 of the 5 days to give us a daily newsletter--he gave then to us in the afternoon and not the morning.

6. The room safe was not working. We had to have an attendant come to the room for repairs. The safe would not recognize our code. They used some type of credit card to reopen the safe.  After 2 times, it appeared to be working properly.

7. Food in main dining room was mediocre at bet.

8. Adjoining door in our cabin was warped at top and sides--couch was worn. They claimed they renovated the ship in 2011 but it seemed they may have never done so.

9. Our impression was that this ship and line were a major disappointment. Our friends said tge food was excellent on Celebrity--However, it seemed like we were on a very old Carnival ship with highly inexperienced personnel.

10.. We may try another Celebrity cruise in a few more years but would only go on a new vessel.

11. Our next several cruises will be on either Norwegian, Royal Carib or Princess. We have boon on these line 5 or more times each and they rarely disappoint.

12. We were appreciative of the size of the room as it was slightly larger than other balcony--However, we did pay extra for this extra size.

13. This cruise experience destroyed our anticipation (from friends and neighbors and marketing ) of a great cruise--resulting in probably the poorest cruise we ever had. We did attend a wedding on a Carnival Cruise Ship and though it was poor service and poor food, it was much better that Celebrity Constellation. It truly was a waste of our money.

14. We did enjoy going ashore in Key West and Cozumel.

Vince & Deb Guinto
