Review summary

In closing, this was our first cruise. Celebrity Cruises' personal were present and extremely attentive during my medical crisis. The emergency room staff were all helpful and their excellent/professional care was greatly appreciated. The ship's crew was in constant communication with my wife during my hospitalization in Lavagna, providing excellent support, as well as facilitating our return to the cruise ship. Upon our re-embarkation, their generosity in providing a room/class upgrade was beyond our expectations. The immediate refund of our missed excursions was generous and greatly appreciated. We both enjoyed the food and beverage service, entertainment, and the ambiance of cruising. This was our first and will not be our last cruise on Celebrity. Thank you to all!

This cabin (8128) may need some refurbishing. When we were generously upgraded to 1140, the balcony was wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Ship tip

If one can afford the upgrade travel in Aqua Class.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

We used United Cruises for this excursion and at Pisa we were left to figure it out on our own with no assistance. In Florence, the guide was self-absorbed, her greatest fan, and troubled. I would not recommend this tour!

Portofino, Italy Did not visit port

I had a medical emergency and had to disembark from the cruise. All staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Celebrity Cruises generously refunded all prepaid excursion fees!

Naples, Italy Did not visit port

Hospitalized in Lavagna Hospital. I purchased a United Cruises tour. They were not as generous as Celebrity Cruise line.

Messina, Sicily Did not visit port

Hospitalized in Lavagna Hospital. I purchased a United Cruises tour. They refused to refund my excursion even though and "Excursion Protection Plan" was purchased and not initially acknowledged (will follow-up their denial email with a call when they open today). They currently are not as generous as Celebrity Cruise line.

Brindisi, Italy Did not visit port

Re-embarked onto cruise ship after being discharged and cleared to return to cruise by the physician at Lavagna Hospital. Celebrity Cruise Line was extremely generous by upgrading my wife and me to Aqua Class, Deck 11, Stern Centered Suite. Thank you Celebrity Cruises and an A+ to all your staff for their care, thoughtfulness, and generosity!!!

Dubrovnik, Croatia

5 out of 5
On morning and afternoon United Cruises excursions, we enjoyed the tours and the guides were interesting. The excursion "Dubrovnik All in One" was interesting and well planned, but a bit too crowned. Audio and earbuds would have helped a lot. We especially enjoyed "Outside City Walls Game of Thrones Driving Tour". The guide was informative , helpful with taking pictures, and had a great sense of humor.

Kotor, Montenegro

5 out of 5
On the Celebrity Cruises excursion "Baroque Charm and Bay of Kotor". The guide was knowledgable, thoughtful, and enjoyable. The tour well planned.

Split, Croatia

Split was wonderful. The United Cruises excursion did offer audio and earbuds for the "Bus" portion of the tour. However, audio was not available for the "Diocletian Palace" portion of the tour and one could not hear the guide speaking (approximately 30-40 tour participants or a bus full). It was very disappointing to not hear 90% of the commentary, despite efforts to get as close as possible to the guide. Wasting one's money on this tour is not recommended.
