Review summary

What a great cruise! The average age was probably 85-88 so there was a lot of shuffling through the aisles but overall a great way to unwind and disconnect for me.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
There was some confusion in the cruise terminal but that was the problem of Civitavecchia but once on the ship things were smooth

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We only ate in the main dining rooms (which was great) except for one afternoon when they had fish and chips at the buffet (where the fish was undercooked)

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the Thalassotherapy pool almost every day (they drained in one day and closed it one day because of rough seas); best thing ever.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were great, the Beyond the Podium series less than necessary

Children's Programs

No children with me and in fact very few children on board

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Dining room staff were excellent, our steward was good but she was learning so things will get better.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The Constellation is showing its age. I thought that she was headed to Tampa for a refurbishment but now I see she is cruising out of Tampa for the winter. Linens need to be replaced and general maintenance needs to be improved. Valances falling on lounge windows, carpet frayed, cabin nightstands broken, etc

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Great cabin, but the robe hooks were pulling from the wall, nightstand tops detached from base, nightstand lamp loose on base, items missing from room (robes, soap dish, hair dryer)

Ports of call

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
Arrived 4 days early so we could explore Ostia and Rome.

Toulon, France

5 out of 5
No excursion but instead explored the city and local stores instead of the tourist traps.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
Didn't go on an excursion, explored the city like a local instead of a tourist.

Cartagena, Spain

5 out of 5
Still no excursion, did our exploring of local stores and a lot of walking!

Malaga, Spain

5 out of 5
Again didn't do an excursion, but did wander the streets of the city and got lots of steps.

Ponta Delgada, Azores Did not visit port

The cruise was rerouted to Gibraltar instead of the Azores, weather.

Nassau, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Loved exploring over the hill area of Nassau, lovely park and very friendly people; everyone said hello and asked us where we were from and enjoyed our visiting.

Tampa, Florida

5 out of 5
Debarkation point.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Smoothly got off the ship and through customs, very crowded outside but a good experience overall
