Review summary

I always wanted to take a trans-Atlantic cruise, glad I did, enjoyed the ports visited. I thought that the 5 continuous days at sea were a bit much. We were supposed to have visited Bermuda, but that was cancelled. With a full ship of over 3,300 passengers, things got a bit claustrophobic on those 5 days when everyone was on board. You just couldn't escape the amount of people especially when the weather caused us to remain inside.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Excellent! I really like the 4 main dining rooms on the Beyond. The Oceanview Cafe buffet is wonderful for all 3 meals. I especially like the theme meals for lunch and dinner. My favorite specialty restaurant is Raw on 5. Wonderful menu, excellent service.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
I thoroughly enjoyed the trivia activities.

Entertainment

Luigi, the cruise director was fantastic. The evening stage shows were all outstanding. Great performances from the Celebrity singers and dancers. On sea days crossing the Atlantic, I enjoyed the afternoon matinee performances. Kudos especially to Jesse Hamilton, Jr., Travis Cloner, Tommy Proulx, Magical Bones, and Les Green & the Swayzees. Wonderful performances!

Explore every inch of the ship and I can guarantee you that you will have a great time.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

no excursion...was in Barcelona for 3 days prior to cruising. Explored on my own. Great city. Loved it!

Malaga, Spain

Great excursion to Malaga and Alcazaba. Beautiful fort. We also visited the magnicifant cathedral. Wonderful knowledgeable guide.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

No excursion. I walked into the main shopping area. Just lovely. It was a perfect day and I enjoyed exploring everywhere on foot. Beautiful city, I could see myself returning.

Lisbon, Portugal

Unfortunately, my scheduled excursion was cancelled by Celebrity. I just wish that more excursions were available...the majority of all the excursions (in every city) were sold-out weeks and weeks before the cruise. I took the Hop On Hop Off bus, which I did not enjoy. Ended up getting off the bus and hiring a tuk-tuk to take me around. We were there on a Sunday and many things were closed. I;'d like to seen more of Portugal some day.

Ponta Delgada, Azores

Walkable city. Went out on my own. Once again the excursion I wanted was sold out prior to sailing.

Cape Liberty (Bayonne), New Jersey

Terminal was good - bright and clean...quick and easy disembarkation, plenty of help with luggage and getting to my car service.
