Ship: Carnival Vista

I have to admit I have been Cruising on Carnival since 2012 and out of the 9 cruises I have been on, Carnival Vista was the best one I have been on so far. I mean this ship blew my mind with all the Entertainment and fun and food etc. that this ship had... incredible. I will go again and again and again on this ship. The staff was wonderful the atmosphere was fantastic and I was in awe with everything. Kudos Carnival you have made an amazing incredible fantastic Fun Ship. Choose Fun Choose Carnival Vista.

Just left the Vista this... by sweeti

Ship: Carnival Vista

Just left the Vista this morning. We had a great time! It is a beautiful ship! While it is a larger ship the public areas do not feel bigger than other Carnival ships. Be sure to arrive early for all shows to get a seat. The comedy club and liquid lounge fill up quick. We found some of the previous reviews about the liquid lounge to be true. The upstairs level consists of obstructed views. The breakfast buffet options are limited. Basically the same thing every day. Definitely recommend the seaday brunch in the Horizon dining room. Lunch was ok. The ice cream was delicious... kinda ruined the usual machines. Guys Burgers are amazing! We tried Your Time Dining for the first time. It was a huge success for us. We ate early some nights and late on other nights. Our table was always ready.... never had to wait. It may have been helpful that there were only two of us. The dinner options were much better in the dining room vs the buffet. Decor on the ship was much more appealing to me then previous Carnival ships. Had a more sophisticated beachy vibe. I have to agree with others who have commented on the elevators. There definitely are not enough of them. Long waits and crazy full on several occasions. We did the skyride and ropes course as soon as we could after boarding. Glad we did because about halfway through our cruise the skyride was indefinitely shut down. Employees didn't/couldn't say why. They did tell us they received a call from corporate that they needed to immediately shut down. Horizon was also told to shut down. Didn't sound like they would be open any time soon.

Amazing 1st Cruise Experiance!!! by bratchild80

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista

We flew into Miami Friday morning before the cruise. Rented a car and hung out on the beach and at the aquarium in miami till we were able to check into the hotel that afternoon. Went to the store to pick up our 12 pack and bottle of wine for the cruise and spent the evening repacking and went to sleep early. Saturday we boarded the boat and had a reversed itinerary cruise we didn't care just happy to be on our first cruise and any type of real vacation together. 1st port was St. Maarten WE Got Engaged!!! All in all it was an amazing journey of a lifetime made such great memories!!!

Just got off yesterday. This... by carolejonescjj

Ship: Carnival Vista

Just got off yesterday. This was cruise #16 for me and it was fabulous. We splurged on a Havana Cabana suite and I don’t think I will be able to cruise again without one 😂 The Havana pool and bar area was nice but our massive cabana / balcony area was where I spent so much of my time. Definitely going to look into doing another one next year. Because of the Havana experience, we never experienced the madness of the lido deck or buffet. They serve breakfast on deck 5 in the Ocean plaza and very few people were there. We had early dining for dinner and had amazing service every night. The hours for the Sky Ride were very limited and the wait was 90 minutes when it was open so we never got to ride it. Bummed about that for sure! Chris, the Flying Scotsman was a great CD and usually the CD has no impact on my cruise. Very authentic and it comes across in everything he does. We are sailing on the Vista again in February with our kids and looking forward to it!

My Carnival Vista Cruise by Winpoohgirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Cruise was a nice break from work. My bed was firm and horrible. I slept poorly every night. Buffet food tasted ok but limited variety at breakfast, strange combos of food for dinner.

My FAVORITE Carnival Ship by Far by tmsmith23

Sweet Ship. I would highly recommend if you are looking for an interior room you look at 11264. Good size and about 30ft from the pool deck and it was quiet.

Ok... first time cruise... Carnival... by MellieBrad

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Ok... first time cruise... Carnival Vista... Negatives: main negative was that we could not find our way around the ship. The only directions were by the elevators and that was a "You are here" map. We saw that many other people, even seasoned cruisers, felt this way too. Since this was our first cruise did not understand the seating. We did not like how close our table was to other guests. Even though we were at a two top, you are essentially eating with the people next to you. You can't have a private conversation and you might as well be at the same table. We tried to explain that we wanted to eat alone at a private two top but they did not seem to understand. There were plenty of private two top tables which we had the first two nights. Staff was amazing, but if you voiced concerns about something, they seems to get very offended in the dining room. If you want the GREATEST Cruiser Director ever.... find the cruise with Chris, The Flying Scotsman, Williams. He made every event spectacular! His energy was contagious and really got people involved. He was sooooooooooo FUN AND TALENTED!! The buffet was nasty, except for the desserts... those were sooooo yummy. We ate breakfast in the dining room, and I it was GREAT! Awesome selection and very tasty. Lunch we had Guy's burgers and they were FANTASTIC! We also had the pizza a few times and that was FANTASTIC also. Wanted to try the Seafood Shack but a $12.00 Lobster roll was too expensive 😳. We ate in the main dining room for dinner and it was excellent. Our last night we splurged and ate at the Steakhouse and it was fabulous!!!! Loved the balcony room. Spent late nights out there feeling the ocean breeze and listening to the waves. Super relaxing as our end of the day wind down. Jamaica we did the river tubing and beach day. The tubing was sooooooooooo fun. Our guide Andre was the best. Would do that again. We used shore excursions to book it. The beach part was so-so but it didn't matter because the tubing was so great. Grand Cayman we did an "on our own" beach day at the Royal Palms. It was fun but the weather was crappy and we did not realize that it is SUPER EXPENSIVE there. Our poor Am dollar is nothing compared to the British pound ☹️. It was fun a day all in all. Cozumel was our favorite stop. We did the snorkeling at Columbia reef and El Cielo then we went to a sand bar and had cocktails in the water. That was AMAZING! After that we went to a water park resort. All of that and transportation back to the ship was included. It was soooooooooooo cool. Will do that excursion again!!! We booked that through Playa Mia/ Shore Fox excursions. The entertainment on the ship was great! Did not expect Bingo to be so expensive lol lol The Cheers package was 100% worth it!!!! So glad we did that! Loved the DJ Fave drink in the Liquid Lounge 🍹🍹🍹 After our time on the Vista, we are definitely going to cruise again!!! Not sure if we will try a different cruise line or stay with Carnival. Hope this was helpful 👍🏻😁😁😁

Was looking so forward to... by AJMink

Ship: Carnival Vista

Was looking so forward to cruising on the Vista. We have cruised on the Dream and LOVED it. We prefer the bigger ships however, was not really impressed with the Vista. Food was just so - so! It wasn't kept as clean as we would have expected. Carnival is changing - a lot more things cost extra - we purchased the cheers program again on this cruise but will never do that again. Love to cruise but may checkout other cruise lines. I'm being nice by giving a "4".

2018 Birthday Cruise by cherowa

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

My overall experience was a 4 ⭐️ because of the food. I had a difficulty time finding something to eat because everything had meat/pork. The ship should prepare food for vegans and vegetarians. Also the line ups to get the food was extremely long.

Great Caribbean ports by hackie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We chose the cruise for the ports. The ship was sold out which may explain for the long long lines for entertainment, food and finding chairs. However the entertainment was very good especially the comedy shows. We really enjoyed the three sea days.

Awesome cruise by tony199

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

I enjoyed the cruise immensely. The ports were wonderful especially, Curaçao and Aruba. The food was tasty and the cabin was warm and welcoming. One thing I didn’t like was the way the food was prepared. There were a lot of opportunities for cross contamination. If a person was allergic to meat, especially pork, he or she would have to be very careful about the food he or she eats. I found I had to tell the individuals preparing the pizzas not to use the same cutter he used to cut the pepperoni pizzas for the cheese pizzas.

Took the Vista Aug 25th... by tatum926

Sail date: /
Ship: Carnival Vista

Took the Vista Aug 25th 2018..the ship was nice and i didnt mind the missing glass elevators. Having the limelight lounge play the roll of comedy club, night club and at times lecture hall was a little annoying. Wasnt enough room for everyone. The shows in the liquid lounge were fantastic. The performers but their all into the shows. The thrill theater was fun. We did the level 3 and it was great. Jumped a bunch of times and laughed at everyone who kept freaking out. The kids club was enjoyed by my son. They kept them busy during their sessions. The night time parties cost a little more than its nightly hr charge. But it was worth it. The water area is nice. My only concern is that the little kids have their slide there and the older kids are running around there. The adults hang out in there also. For me, i was trying to watch my son but had difficulty bc of the adults standing in there trying to keep cool and the older kids running on the steps where the young kids slide is. There were no accidents thank god but it could happen. I read to do the sky ride early and I did not adhere the warning. I did comd back to thd boat early 1 day to go on but after a half hr wait i was told my tank top was not acceptable. On the last day i waited from 8am till 9am and was told the ride was broken. No idea how much longer to have it fixed. So needless to say i didn't get to ride. They should have a system in place for those waiting to attend and go to the front of the line. Like a sign up sheet or something (Just a thought).. The food was good. Wish there were more of a selection for kids at the buffet. One night i did not enjoy dinner in the dining room. Andre our waiter was amazing. Guys burgers was great and long wait for Mongolian Wok but worth it. La Romana not worth the stop, Turks has the beach right at port but Aruba and Curacao made this cruise fantastic. Walk around, see the sights and grab something to eat. The fort is Curacao is great for pics, the pontoon bridge and the buildings were amazing to see especially lit up. In Aruba see the sights, walk around to the mall, then grab a cab to a beach. There wasnt much to complain about. Heard people complain that there were too many ppl but big ships=more people. I didnt mind. I enjoyed my vacation.

First Experience by andriafrancis

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Vista / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The food was poor. Not many options for vegetarians. Every good item contained pork or some meat of some sort The entertainment was not enough. Entertainment needs to cater to non white cruisers in terms of music etc. The comedians especially Spike Davis were great. Singers and dancers are mediocre
