Review summary

While the Vista is a brand new ship it is hard to tell .. very low key décor  no Grand atrium as on other ships in its class or size.. a very casual feel.. Don't get me wrong.. its nice but NO wow!  the food was days..  good... not great.. the breakfast menu  at the buffet was pretty much the same all 8 days.. the only exception was GUYS BURGER JOINT  ! excellent!!  on a scale of 1-10   a " 11"  it was that good!  the dining rooms are run in  a American dining experience  theme... witch means no table cloths  no pulling chairs out .. and all with the feel of a American chain restaurant .. No pampering..  The price was attractive and service overall good but I'll stick to other lines I can be casual staying home..

engineerrick actually I saw many staff of the vista pushing the elevator buttons many times. On many occasions it was port days when many guest were attempting to get back on board the ship. They would then take the stairs.

@thess1976 Amen to that!

I love the almost "ultra modern/ sterile" design of the Vista, it's a lot better than the god awful conquest class interiors. It's modern and 21st century.

Huge atriums are a huge waste of space. More cabins and gathering areas are placed in what would have been a see through to the top atrium which is being phased out in cruise ships. Disney's ships mostly have the small 3 level atriums which other ships have seemed to adopt.

Who cares about tablecloths??!! If that's the biggest gripe of this ship then I'm sure I'll enjoy it & have a great time

hschambless    8 years ago

It costs a great amount of time and money to wash tablecloth everyday, plus they may have different maritime laws for disposal of waste water in the med. This could be the reason for the lack of tablecloths.

Oh my gawd

There are no glass elevators on the Vista. There are fewer elevators than even on the Fantasy Class ships. And yes, the kids still love to push all the elevator buttons. 😎

Wow stevenstair.. Why you gotta be so mean?😄 we are all entitled to an opinion. I've not been on the Vista, but one of the biggest wow factors on Carnival ships is the Grand Atrium and glass elevators. And as cool as the LED attraction on Vista is, something seems missing. I've been on the Magic 2x and going on the Breeze this month...

The Breeze an the Vista are great ships, who ask you guys to be a critic? Stop complaining an stay home!

So there is no glass window elevators on Vista?

engineerrick    8 years ago

We were disappointed with the "sterile" look of the ship. We were also disappointed at the lack of a full height atrium with glass elevators. On the other hand we liked the number of food venues and outside seating. The ship never seemed crowded. 😎

I guess I like the glitz and the glamour also. Looking at the pics of the Vista I saw really plain and straight line decor. Not for me I'm thinking

Caribbeanjuicee    8 years ago

@windycitykitty I disagree with you I thought the decor on the breeze was better than any other carnival ship because it didnt have all the glitz and glamour.

The Vista is the first in its class.

We had chairs pulled out and napkins placed in our laps every night on the Dream and they also have the new "American Table ".

sreb    8 years ago

Note: American restaurants have table clothes, albeit fast food. I wouldn't say dining room is 'American' theme. It's called a 'cheaper' theme.

Thank heavens that Carnival finally switched to a modern design #byeneon
