Review summary
The ports of call are excellent, the staff on board is wonderful, the Carnival excursions are excellent. So why were we unhappy? The ship is dated and has a very strange decorating theme. The main loby has figure heads of great Americans whcih make it look like a mosuleum. The on board entertainment is very average, the food in the main dinning room while plentiful is also very average. The coffee in the main dinning room is horrible, so you have to go to the Java shop and pay for decent coffee. We enjoyed having a balcony, but the room was very worn and dated. Our steward was oustanding and kept it as clean as possible. The only oustanding food is at Scarlett's Steak House and we enjoyed that twice at $35 extra a person. We compare this Carnival cruise to our last one out of New Orleans and this one was not nearly as good. We would go back to the same places in a minute and we would take the same staff, but not the same ship or cruise company at this time. Be prepared to pay for every drink, soft drink and any decent food. You have to pay for Wi-Fi as well.

Ship tip
Go to the Serenity zone and sit in the hot tub after your excursions and watch the ship leave port from there with a cold drink in your hand.
