Review summary

This was the front half of a 21 night Journey cruise. We did not know this when we booked.

This is the ship that had engine problems in 2013 that made the news when passengers were stranded for a couple days without the toilets working. We did not know that when we booked either.

Overall this was the best cruise we've been on. Despite the past problem the ship was clean. Food was excellent. Crew was very friendly and helpful. If you do the your time dining in the London dining room ask to be seated in Roberto's section. He and his team were outstanding.

Plenty of shows kept us busy every night with two sets of comedians brought on board and different shows/jokes at each performance.

Very easy to get around the ship. Lido deck (pool) layout is the best in terms of access to the buffet and bars. Our room was an interior on deck 8 in the middle of the ship. Never felt motion while under sail.

I would take this trip/ship over and over if it was available.

Stayed the night before at the DoubleTree near the airport. Used hotel shuttle to go from and to the airport. Used the Carnival transportation from the airport to the ship.

George Town, Grand Cayman

Oranjestad, Aruba

Take a cab to Moomba Beach. It's part of the Palm Beach strip and really any beach along this streach is great.

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality

We walked to the Plaza Resort from the ship. $5 member for the day. Beach was fine but the water was rocky. There is a pool you can access.

We were supposed to sail on the Triumph the day after the fire and we got cancelled. We immediately booked for April 2013 and had a blast. Since then we have been on the Triumph one other time (Jan 2016) and we are going back in July.

We loved the Truimph. we were supposed to sail out in Feb of 2013, but the day before we got the email about the fire in the engine room and how the ship would be delayed. that cruise is now widely known as "the poop cruise". we were disappointed , but didn't let it stop us from rebooking........it took us 2 years though. (We did still get our discount also for the inconvenience we went through with 2 months of cruises being canceled) everything about the triumph was great! food, entertainment, crew, port stops! even knowing what happened before we didn't let it stop us!

I'd you had known it was the ship that broke down in 2013, would you have still booked it?
