Review summary

First time in Alaska and was beautiful. I had an interior room and next time would definitely book a window room since it was rainy most the time and not able to be on deck. I loved the ship and would go on her again. Andy, the cruise director was a blast!

Embarkation

Waited in line outside forever but at least they had shade over us. I was there at my embarkation time and since the line was horrible I think people were there way before their scheduled time. Once inside it went pretty fast. VeriFLY was super fast.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cabin was great, nice and quiet. The fridge didn’t work or the AC. They had someone “fix” the AC but it never worked. Thankfully they brought a fan right away and that helped considerably.

Ship tip

Wear your mask as there were lots of people who came down with covid. Book the Tracy Arm Fjord excursion as that was the highlight of the trip. It was spectacular!

Ports of call

Juneau, Alaska

My helicopter and dogsledding excursion got canceled due to rain so I was devastated. Didn’t find out until on the dock so took a little time to regroup. Decided to book whale watching and saw many whales.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Booked the “deadliest catch” excursion through the ship. Was rainy most the time but enjoyed the excursion very much. If you are a fan of the show book it, you won’t be disappointed.

Cruise Tracy Arm Fjord, Alaska

Book the excursion to get up close, you won’t see the glacier from the Splendor.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Was so peaceful and tranquil here. Would love to go back and explore more.

Victoria, British Columbia

Wasn’t feeling well so got off the ship, took a pict of the Canada sign, and went back on board to sleep. Once home I tested positive for covid.
