WELL IVE ALWAYS RECOMMENDED THIS 7 DAY CRUISE TO MEXICO TO MANY FRIENDS AND FAMILY....HOWEVER AFTER THIS LAST CRUISE OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY WILL NOT TRAVEL ANYMORE AND FOR ONE REASON....THAT CARNIVAL DOESNT THINK WERE WORTH NMORE THAN 50 BUCKS FOR SPENDING ALMOST 2 DAYS IN LONG BEACH AND NOT GETTING TO SEE MAZALAN ....50 BUCKS IS WHAT THEY THINK WERE WORTH....I HEARD MANY MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS SHIP FROM SO MANY PPL AND SOME SAID CARNIVAL OFFERED THEM NEW CRUISES FOR FREE OR HALD THEIR MONEY BACK.....BUT WE ARE ONLY WORTH 50 BUCKS...PROBADLY BECAUSE WE ARENT HIGH SOCIETY CRUISERS.....MY FAMILY FEELS DISCRIMINATED AGAINST AND SISNT GET WHAT WE PAID FOR AND CARNIVAL RESPONSE IS SO SAD TOO BAD....

You do realize that you received port fees back AND with the contract you signed with Carnival you didn’t even need to receive a $50 credit? Yes it sucks you missed a port but safety is a priority and a ship malfunction is kind of out of their control too.

What I fail to understand is why some people don't look at the bright side of a situation. Now don't get me wrong, knowing me I probably would be frustrated with the wait. But I also would be grateful that the problem was found be we sailed. Being out in the middle of the ocean with engine problems would not be good at all. It also appears that Carnival had you guys safety in mind rather than trying to get you to a Port. Now far as the weather being over cast, I'm sure Carnival will try better next time. Happy cruising and good luck with finding that perfect cruise and perfect ship. As long as I'm with my love ones, I'll try and make the best out of a bad situation.

Which cruise line is it again that never has breakdowns?

Sorry this happened on your cruise, but cruises can be delayed or ports missed for a variety of reasons - mechanical issues, weather, a health emergency, political issues, etc. All cruise contracts state this and they are under no obligation to offer any compensation, but usually do. If a specific itinerary or port is of importance to you, I recommend getting a good travel policy that will compensate you for an itinerary change or missed port(s). That way you will at least have some compensation for the issue.
