Review summary

We made the best out of a terrible cruise. Simply said, we will never recommend Carnival again

Embarkation

This cruise was for our 10yr anniversary so we obviously had high hopes. Carnival lied to everyone about the extent of the engine damage and handled our 24+ hour delay very poorly. We skipped Mazatlan which is where we wanted to renew our wedding vows,,,,

Had no time to enjoy it because Carnival did such a terrible job explaining the disembark process

More lies by Carnival. They clearly stated what our hours were previously but rushed us off the ship the next on their own schedule

That's a bummer. I know they can't always control ship problems and safety should be priority.

Would believe your review if you had last cruises listed. But it seems your like the either self entitled snobs who have bitched about that cruise. Yea it sucks you missed your wedding vow renewals in one port but I guess you would prefer Carnival not keep you safe. Pity they have to put up with rotten snobs like you

I agree. We were on the Carnival Splendor on May 25- June 1 2019. It was disappointing being stuck in Long Beach and not making it to Mazatlan. My wife lost over 130 pounds and we wanted to retake a picture we took the last time we were in Mazatlan. We went on the same cruise in 2007 to the Mexican Rivera but we went on RCCL Vision of the seas great experience!

Bummer about your wedding renewal. If you really need to be at a port at a certain time, don't take a cruise to get there.

Delays and issues can and do happen on all cruise lines, so I wouldn’t base my decision on one bad experience.
