Review summary

This whole experience was awful. From the time we arrived to the port to be diverted to a different structure off site. To being stuck in the Long Beach harbor for 22 hours with a broken engine. The staff was disengaged and rude. The lack of communication was appalling and the lack of customer service was astonishing. I honestly don't know how this company stays in business.

Embarkation

It was alright. The process of getting to the terminal was a mess. The Long Beach terminal is over crowded on Saturdays so they make you park off site which wouldn't have been a big deal if they bothered to notify the passengers about it before hand.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
They offer iced tea, coffee, Lipton hot tea, lemonade, water, and hot chocolate for "free" all the time, they offer orange juice, apple juice, and POG at breakfast time only unless you are in the main dining room. The lemonade was watery one day and overly sweet the next, they didn't have the mix ratio down at all. One morning the apple juice was pure concentrate. The buffet was poorly stocked and the staff was inattentive. The main dining rooms had better options but the staff was still marginally attentive and food was forgotten on more than one occasion and there was not attempt to address the situation or get the missing items.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
There were three pools all of which were occupied from the time they opened until they closed. The putt putt golf course was a mess because no one was watching their children who were just using it as an unsupervised place to run amuck. The clue game seemed pretty neat but if you missed a clue then you were out of the running for making an qualified guess. Bingo is always fun but it is ridiculously expensive for Bingo.

Entertainment

We did not participate in any of the entertainment activities.

Children's Programs

No kids.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our room steward did his best but his staff was lacking. The other staff members were rude and disengaged. Including the wait staff in the main dining rooms.

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
This ship is dated. It needs an over haul. The pink-tiger print is tacky and an eye sore. The ship isn't even that old but it definitely looks like it. The ship's layout was funky too, it wasn't easy to get around on the lower decks. On of the main dining rooms was in the middle of things so you can't go through to the other side. It was just odd. The buffet was smack in the middle of two pools which made it a mess.

Cabin / Stateroom

2 out of 5
The cabin was small but that's no surprise. The TV didn't work half the time, the shower drained into the bathroom the first night. The fridge was busted. Our "king" bed kept shifting apart. We were practically shaken out of bed when the anchor dropped or the ropes went out. It was awful.

Ship tip

Don't use this company. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
It was a cluster. The stewards were telling people on all decks to just leave whenever and not listen to the announcements of what decks were being called off. So it became a huge mess getting off the ship and into customs.
