Review summary

This cruise was very enjoyable. But we learned a long time ago that it is what you make it. You have to put in some effort to make it fun.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Clean dining rooms and the food was great.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Plenty of things going on all day long. No reason to be bored!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The evening shows left a little to be desired as did the comedians. The Dive-In movies were all appropriate and good!

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service provided by the waiters and room stewards was impeccable. They always did their best to please.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is a little outdated. The public restrooms were fairly well hidden and hard to find. The ship was kept as clean as possible.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The size was perfect for 2 people. It was always clean!

Ship tip

Take cash with you!! Mexico does not particularly like credit cards but will take cash. Even the taxi and outside excursions want cash. Also, check the daily activities out on sea days! Many things are booked at the same time!

Ports of call

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

This is a busy port. We did do the catamaran excursion out to the arch and it was great. We were able to actually witness a mother and baby whale playing in the water.

Mazatlan, Mexico

5 out of 5
The guys went golfing (ship cruise - don't recommend it) and the gals went off the ship to look around. They were offered an excursion for $30 by one of the vendors (Trip Advisor approved) for a tour of Mazatlan. It was well worth every cent and was extremely informative and fun. The tour director was Homey and he was well versed in English and very easy going. Made it back to the shlp in plenty of time.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We did get off the ship and were going to walk over to Walmart and look around. One of our party had a bad hip and so we made a deal with a taxi driver to show us around the area for $25 each. We spent about 4.5 hours with him and he pretty much catered to what we wanted to see. We spent a little time in Walmart and then he took us around the city to see the growth. We got to see Elizabeth Taylor's home and got to have an original "street taco" that was fantastic!! Got back in plenty of time to go on our scheduled excursion to "Rhythms of the Night". The show was spectacular and we would encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.

Disembarkation

Super easy and quick. We had an early flight to opted to take off our own suitcases and disembark first. Very quick and had plenty of time to catch our flight. Taking a taxi to the Long Beach Airport is about $32 so if you have more people, it's the cheapest and quickest way to get there. (There were 4 of us so ended up being $10 each.)
