Review summary

The ship was nice and the crew was outstanding. Everywhere we went the staff were smiling and you could tell they were enjoying themselves. The fact that they could remember your name was amazing. We even had the shot glass guy from the main dining room remember us when he saw us on the Lido Deck. Highly recommend this ship and itinerary.

Embarkation

They let us in at 12:00 for our 12:30 check-in and we were onboard by 12:30. There were no lines and everyone was pleasant and helpful to this 1st time cruiser.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

LOVED our server Melanie from the main dining room. The 'show time' ritual by the maitre'd was too much for me but it definitely didn't ruin anything. We had a 2-year old with us and they came by constantly and talked to her to keep her occupied. I thought the food was good, some was fantastic such as the filet mignon and steak tacos. The french fries on the Lido deck were delicious, we kept sending my nephew to get us more as we played cards upstairs on deck 10 by the BBQ place. I would also recommend the BBQ, delicious mac and cheese and brisket. The lines for Mongolian Wok were super long so I was not able to enjoy it.

Ship Quality

Once I figured out what stairs to take it made it easier. The first couple of days I went to deck 3 for dinner and realized I was on the wrong side so I had to go back up to 5 to get around to the right side of the ship. It took some getting used to, it's all about learning if your destination is aft, mid, or forward. Loved the ability to have the roof closed on the Lido Deck, it came in handy the last two sea days as they were very windy and colder.

Our excursion, zip lining, was fun but this is not a port that makes it easy to just walk around from the port.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

We did Las Caletas and had a blast! There were 11 of us and it afforded us to select the level of activity we wanted. Be prepared for walking up/down hills to get to the beach area and the older kids activities. The lunch they provided was delicious.
