Review summary

This cruise was me, my husband, my brother and sister and their significant others. We had such a great time! It was definitely nice leaving from Long Beach - that port is so easy! I would definitely go on this cruise again but would like to do 2 days in Puerto Vallarta and 1 day in Cabo. Puerto Vallarta is a beautiful city with so much to see.

Embarkation

The process went quickly. We did have FTTF so that helped but I think that even without it, it was very well organized - better than the other home ports I have cruised from before.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The MDR was wonderful. I have food restrictions and they went above and beyond to ensure that I was taken care of. Our head waiter, Noel, was fabulous and so were his assistants. We couldn't have been happier with the service. I didn't eat at the buffet much (except a couple times for breakfast) but everything I did have was wonderful.

Pizzeria

5 out of 5

I got the pizza a couple times on the GF crust. First, the crust was delicious. Second, they were very careful in making my pizza so I wouldn't get sick. They made it on a special counter in the back away from the flour and other dough.

Deli

5 out of 5

I went to the deli once to get a sandwich. They had gluten free bread and really went out of there way to make sure there wasn't any cross-contamination.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We went to several shows that were great. Our cruise director, Marq, was wonderful. He was full of energy and you could tell he truly loves his job. JJ was his entertainment person maybe but she was also fabulous! Loved the two of them!!!!

Royal Flush Casino

1 out of 5

Wish they would do something about the smoking. It really carries all around that floor and the one above and below it. It was almost unbearable to walk through there and you have to walk through it to go almost anywhere.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Waiters were top notch! Our room steward was just ok. We didn't see him much but our room was always taken care of so I guess that's what is important.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It was an older ship and could use some TLC. Nice besides that!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was small but we spoiled ourselves with getting a suite first. Still a nice room for the 2 of us. 6th floor aft is not good for noise though. It's above a few of the clubs, etc and the base can shake things up. Fortunately I was so exhausted at night from all the fun it didn't bother me.

Ports of call

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

5 out of 5
We did the sail & snorkel excursion which was fun but the water was so cold.

Mazatlan, Mexico

3 out of 5
I wouldn't go there again and if I took a cruise that stopped there, I would stay on the boat. It was good to see it once but that's enough for me. We did the Mazatlan by Sea and Land. It was a nice excursion. We saw a lot which was nice.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

Disembarkation
