Review summary

Overall good time DW wants to do more Journeys cruises.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The usual get there at the appointed time stand in line. Was surprised to see that even though it still prints off with your travel documents the Health Questionnaire is no longer needed.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was great as usual in the main dining room though I did notice the portions have gotten smaller. Had some issues with improperly cooked eggs and undelivered food request during the Sea Day Brunches. DW and son got burgers at Off the grill only to bite into them and find they were under cooked( red in the middle). Then go attitude from the server when they went back to get new ones.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the Fun Academy lectures that you find on the Journeys Cruises. Cloud 9 spa was great after a bumpy start.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Comedians were great and had a variety of them on the long cruise 6 Different ones total. The main Show lounge was another story never stayed through a complete show. The dancers could really dance well but the songs that were chosen for them to sing were most times out of their ranges and sounded horrible

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The Wait staff we had in the Golden Pearl was great. Help out with family food allergies. Room Stewards did a great job as usual.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Over all the ship is very clean with the standard layout of it's class. As always there were staff everywhere cleaning this and that and picking up after some of the fellow cruiser that are slobs.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Nice sized cabin with plenty of room for 3 people to move around without tripping over each other.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

4 out of 5
Wasn't there long it was our embarkation port.

Cartagena, Colombia

5 out of 5
Great place had a good time learning the History of Cartagena.

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
Once in a life time experience. Had a guy on board who talked us through the history of the locks and canal through the whole transit. 9 hours he talked for about 40 Mins of every hour. Very informative.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Took the rain forest excursion our guide was great had a back round in botany and pointed out a bunch of different plants.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

5 out of 5
Off the beaten path but had a great local tour guide for a trip into modern Mayan area to a post classic Mayan archaeological site.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

3 out of 5
Wasn't off the ship much here our excursion was cancelled last minute leaving us not much to do Never have liked the pushy folks trying to rip you off right there outside the port so bought a couple of souvenirs at a local shop and got back on the boat.

Long Beach (Los Angeles), California

4 out of 5
Debarked here had a ride straight to LAX for a flight back to Miami so wasn't in town long.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
The usual line jumpers that want to give the staff a hard time and not follow instruction cause they think they're special but got off the boat with no problem. Surprised that there are no longer Customs declaration forms.
