I loved the ship would definitely recommend if you want to see Alaska. Shore excursions were fun and they were able to accomodate a handicapped person although the room was a little cramped. Next time I probably would book on the main deck or upper though because the higher decks made me a bit unsteady at times. Was able to rent a wheelchair on board for my husband who was close to the end of his life and the crew was great getting him on and off the ship and ordering a bus that could lift a wheelchair. The scenery was just gorgeous and I thought the food was very skillfully prepared and delicious.

This is an older ship, but it's still nice. I like the fact that it's smaller - easier to get around, no waiting in buffet lines or long waits for elevators. Had a wonderful time!

There were too many of over priced activites.

Loved being with friends and family.

Very nice ship for it's age (I am going to sail on the new "Magic" ship in September). Very nice crew who work hard to please you. Lots of ports to visit. Great excursions, but rather costly for the ones I really wanted.

the ship was great but for ten thousand I spent taking my family. screwed me good. They put my family in two seperate hotels for 3 days before the trip. I will never use them again.VERY POOR BUSINESS PRACTICE I tried for 3 days before we left, to get this right but they REFUSED. Iwas very dissapointed to spend this much money to be treated liks s***t by I will go to Carnival the next time for the same price. FOR more info jerryburnett@hughes.net

ship was very pretty and they keep it clean,staff clothing always looked pressed and sharp.

overal great experience. staff super friendly and willing to assist with whatever you need. best food on upper deck. dining room's food was mostly not warm, sometimes just really cold, like still frozen shrimps. but the staff, also in the dining room, was friendly and did all they could for us. we loved the views and would recommend the trip to anyone who loves nature views.

It is a technological marvel.

A bit outdated

This was our second cruise on the Spirit. We had taken it to Alaska previously. It was a great time. The ship had added an Adult Only Sun deck - Serenity Deck. It was great. Wicker furniture with padding. Cabana's and even hammocks. Very comfortable. We also enjoyed the Anytime Dining option. This allows you to dine when you want. Only drawback was not having the same waiters each night. In some sections, we found the service to be lacking. When we found someone good, we requested that section. Lots of shore excursions, but pricey. We hooked up with some other guests and did it on our own, for much less. This ship will not be doing the Hawaii cruise any longer. I would probably not do the 15 day itinerary to Hawaii again, but instead would look for a cruise from the states to Hawaii and depart to fly home from there, giving you the option to stay longer if you wanted. It was very relaxing and good weather for the most part. There were a couple of emergencies on this cruise, guest jumped overboard, and a medical emergency, and the crew/ship handled them well. Guest was rescued and we returned to Hawaii with a sick guest who needed medical care. This meant we missed the port of Ensenada, but in it's absence, a guest was an Elvis impersonator, and they had him put on a great show for us. Ensenada was an evening stop, and with the dangers in Mexico, it was doubtful how many would get off anyway. I know I wouldn't have gotten off. Overall, a great time.

The ship was nice and we primarily picked it based on the itinerary from San Diego to Hawaii which included 5 Hawaiian port visits. The 4 days at sea to Hawaii and 5 days at sea back to San Diego we were excited to watch shows, eat, relax, and be entertained. We were not! The shows were very lacking in good entertainment value. The best shows were actually where they had the passengers entertain the crowds and the magic show was good too. The Carnival Spirit Singers and Dancers were about the least entertaining of all the cruises we have been on. The band was good but without direction on how to make a good entertaining show there was nothing they could do. Out of the 15 day cruise, there were 3 dance/singing shows, 1 magic show, 1 hypnotist show, 2 guest shows, and luckily the PASSENGERS brought on an Elvis impersonator for their own groups Blue Hawaii Cruise Tour and he gracefully performed a show for the entire ship because the ship had nothing planned! It was the best show of the whole cruise and it had nothing to do with the Carnival's entertainment plan! Overall we were terribly bored and disappointed with the entertainment. The service by the general crew was also disappointing. We had my-time dining and it took us several days to find a set of wait staff we liked. Once we did we requested their tables every night! It was more about the general crew members not being able to understand or respond in basic English to most of our questions. It was the least quality of general service we have ever received on a cruise ship. It could possibly be because they were all at the end of their season and they are transitioning to Alaska after this cruise was over. But never the less, it was poor service.

Great service although some members were lacking in personality. As usuall music in shows was too loud and som,e areas of ship were cold.

it was relaxing, clean, easy to get around. The food was like eating from my college days at the cafeteria. If you have a family with children, it is worth it.

Cabin steward was great ! Some of the best entertainment we have found on any ship.....especially the "big" band.

Ship is beautiful inside and has all the amenities needed for a vacation. Staterooms are in very good condition with excellent room service. The fun times daily itinerary is well thought out for the whole family.

THE SHIP WAS NICELY DESIGNED. PLENTY OF ELEVATORS-NEVER HAD TO WAIT MORE THAN TWO MINUTES FOR AN ELEVATOR. STAFF WAS FRIENDLY BUT, DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND AT TIMES-MANY HAD HEAVY ACCENTS AND SPOKE LITTLE ENGLISH. STATEROOMS WERE LAYED OUT WELL. FOOD IN BOTH THE DINING ROOM AND BUFFET WAS BELOW AVERAGE QUALITY-VERY BLAND!

My first cruise was a fabulous time, we had a balcony suite with VIP embarkation and it's the only way to travel on a big ship. We really enjoyed the entertainment and the cruise director was full of fun!

This was our first cruise and we had a wonderful time. There are so many fun things to do for the parents and the kids. Our boys, 6 & 8, LOVED the "Green Thunder" slide, the water park, and the pools. The staff is fantastic, detailed, and friendly.

i enjoy the live music and service was excelent!
