Lot's of picture taking opportunities :) by ScottT5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska

breakfast and lunch was good, but I would have liked biscuits and gravy for breakfast. The daily drink was a great way to try something different everyday and for a good price. Reusing the glass you buy on the first day of the cruise, will save you 1$ on every drink after the first :)

A one of a kind vacation by Jamv4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska

This is a wonderful vacation from the moment is sailed and came back to Seattle. We appreciate the cleanliness, orderliness of the ship and staff. We love coming back to our clean room every night. My son would take pictures of the character towels and can't stop showing to his friends. We love coming back to our anytime dining and look forward to the delicacy they are serving that day. We also appreciate the lido food because of its varied selection. However, we felt that it was always crowded and availability of places to eat was scarce. This made eating in Lido longer and at times a hassle. We love the night shows such as comedy, jazz and karaoke. The Camp was a hit to my son. He can't stop raving about to his friends! The excursions were an added bonus as we can already enjoy Alaska's scenery from our ship. However, this is not to undermine the excursions as this is one of the best part of our vacation as well. It was truly an amazing experience and a vacation well worth it.

Our 40th Anniversary Alaska Cruise by WildaP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We had an absolutely wonderful time on our trip to Alaska on the Spirit booked through . We went the end of May and had wonderful weather while we were there and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The only problem we had for the whole week was in Skagway someone on the dock gave us wrong information about where to wait for our excursion and it caused us to miss our train. Be sure to read very carefully where to meet for your excursions. This was the first time we booked the balcony. We loved it!!!

Alaska Here We Come by PattyS70574046

Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This is our fourth Carnival Cruise ship. We have been on the Tropicale, the Conquest, the Splendor, three months ago and now the Spirit. Each ship had it's own personality due to decor. Eventhough the Splendor is decorated completely different from the Spirit it was nice that the deck plans were similair. The ship was very clean and everyone was friendly. Already booked another cruise on Carnival Miracle to Hawaii for 15 nights.

We would of liked a program every night in the main ballroom for the early diners and one for the late diners, even a movie would work.

Relaxing and Interesting by JohnB30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This is a cruise for those looking for something different. No beaches. No heavy partying. If you are expecting to see crystal clear skies 24/7 you will be disappointed. What you will see is a temperate rain forest ecosystem that is beautiful, pristine and clean. There will be plenty of time to relax as the shore time is at a minimum. There are three nights before one arrives in Skagway, which is the longest shore day. Tracey Arm was not accessible on our cruise because of icebergs but the scenery was exceptional. We recommend the Chilcoot hike/float in Skagway. We did not purchase a Carnival excursion in Juneau and boy, were we glad we waited. There were numerous vendors lined up on the dock with great prices....$16 round trip to the Mendenhall Glacier. Fantastic! There is very little time in Ketchican, but for some cheap natural history walk to the Totem Heritage Center: $5 bucks! Victoria, BC, was a waste for shore time. Only four hours. This was just enough time to walk to the city center and back. Overall we found that the boat was excellent, the food was good and the service just fine. We were too early in the season for the salmon run. As a result, the bears were not down at the streams yet....although we did see a couple of black bears, a few Eagles and various other wildlife.....watch for whales next to the ship! This was an enjoyable trip.

Great cruise by AnneL4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

I loved the ship would definitely recommend if you want to see Alaska. Shore excursions were fun and they were able to accomodate a handicapped person although the room was a little cramped. Next time I probably would book on the main deck or upper though because the higher decks made me a bit unsteady at times. Was able to rent a wheelchair on board for my husband who was close to the end of his life and the crew was great getting him on and off the ship and ordering a bus that could lift a wheelchair. The scenery was just gorgeous and I thought the food was very skillfully prepared and delicious.

Great Cruise by Karen6

This is an older ship, but it's still nice. I like the fact that it's smaller - easier to get around, no waiting in buffet lines or long waits for elevators. Had a wonderful time!

Great Alaska Cruise by TimK2

Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Very nice ship for it's age (I am going to sail on the new "Magic" ship in September). Very nice crew who work hard to please you. Lots of ports to visit. Great excursions, but rather costly for the ones I really wanted.

overal great experience. staff super friendly and willing to assist with whatever you need. best food on upper deck. dining room's food was mostly not warm, sometimes just really cold, like still frozen shrimps. but the staff, also in the dining room, was friendly and did all they could for us. we loved the views and would recommend the trip to anyone who loves nature views.

Cruise to Hawaii by Sue12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Spirit / Destination: Hawaii

This was our second cruise on the Spirit. We had taken it to Alaska previously. It was a great time. The ship had added an Adult Only Sun deck - Serenity Deck. It was great. Wicker furniture with padding. Cabana's and even hammocks. Very comfortable. We also enjoyed the Anytime Dining option. This allows you to dine when you want. Only drawback was not having the same waiters each night. In some sections, we found the service to be lacking. When we found someone good, we requested that section. Lots of shore excursions, but pricey. We hooked up with some other guests and did it on our own, for much less. This ship will not be doing the Hawaii cruise any longer. I would probably not do the 15 day itinerary to Hawaii again, but instead would look for a cruise from the states to Hawaii and depart to fly home from there, giving you the option to stay longer if you wanted. It was very relaxing and good weather for the most part. There were a couple of emergencies on this cruise, guest jumped overboard, and a medical emergency, and the crew/ship handled them well. Guest was rescued and we returned to Hawaii with a sick guest who needed medical care. This meant we missed the port of Ensenada, but in it's absence, a guest was an Elvis impersonator, and they had him put on a great show for us. Ensenada was an evening stop, and with the dangers in Mexico, it was doubtful how many would get off anyway. I know I wouldn't have gotten off. Overall, a great time.
