Our cruise was a 16 day Repositioning cruise from Seattle to Miami. It was great. I would recommend Journey cruises. Lots of sea days to enjoy the onboard activities and ship pools and really get a chance to meet people.
Embarkation

We boarded in Seattle and it was organized and quick to get on the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate mostly at Lido buffet. Their variety was very good. The seafood shack shrimp platter was $13 for 20 peel and eat jumbo shrimp. Cooked in butter and garlic and we took it to Karaoke for a snack. The Chopstick food was excellent. Very tasty and lots of people enjoyed it, their orange chicken is delicious and so is the eggplant dish. Salad bar had fresh food and lots of choices. Pizza place late night after 11 pm had extras and their lasagna was the best. We ate at the main dinning room 1 night and it was delicious. Lots of flavor. We ate 1 night at the steakhouse and best deal on board. The food is flavorful and very much worth the price. It’s a 5 course meal. Couldn’t finish my 18 ounce steak. At lunch we would go to the salad bar and make a tray for karaoke, with cheese and lunch meats and some fruit then took it to Karaoke.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The Fun Squad had lots of activities to participate in. Our friends we travel with enjoy singing so we spent lots of time in Karaoke and the piano bar. The pools were great. They had 3 of them and never to crowded. A beautiful fitness center with an indoor jacuzzi to use. The ship has a water slide not sure if it got used due to the age group of passengers. The miniature golf course was fun.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The entertainment on board was great. Great violinist, bands, guitar player, piano man, shows were excellent and duo groups. Always had something going on or music playing
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We received excellent service from everyone on board. All staff very visible even the captain and his crew.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Great size ship. Very clean and kept in good condition. Someone always painting it cleaning.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Room 8165 extended balcony. Made was our room steward. Our room was quiet even though we were under part of lido. They do not put away the lounges so did not have that noise at all. The balcony was big and loved it. Very clean snd our mattress was comfortable.
Ship tip
Have fun and enjoy yourself. This Journey cruise had 5 kids on board under the age of 7. They looked like they had fun. Very well behaved. There were a lot of scooters on board due to the age group and most of them were very courteous and a few thought they were on a highway driving. The age group on the cruise was great. 20 year olds to 90 year olds.
The port is nice but the town is old but lots of history. We took an independent tour that included a city tour and a boat ride up the river to see crocodiles and birds. It was a long ride out of the city but a very nice shuttle and air conditioned. I think it was the day we had the mist humidity. The people were very friendly and not pushy to buy their stuff.
We rented a truck and drove to Key West for 3 days. We have been to Miami many times but never Key West. I recommend the Eden Inn at Key West. Very green grounds, had a pool and spa, a tiki bar and walking distance to Duval street.
Beautiful place. You water shuttle from ship to port. We stayed close to port and enjoyed Senior Frogs. We have been there 3 other times this years so went back to ship to enjoy the pool.
First time there. Took an independent tour of the 5 bays. Loved the tour by boat. The water was warm considering you are in the Pacific. We saw sea turtles on the tour. Beautiful coastline and water. Recommend a tour since not much to do where the port is.
A very large city. Lots to do at the port and in town. It was hot and humid that day. We did a city tour. The drivers are crazy there. I only saw 2 stop signs and a few stop lights. So much history and greenery everywhere. The bird sanctuary right off the ship is a go to definitely.
We flew in day before stayed at the Mediterranean Inn. Cute place. Walked 2 blocks and found a great bar and restaurant to eat and drink at. No excursions since we have recently been there.
Once in a lifetime trip. Recommend a balcony on this trip. You do not get off the ship. We traveled down the old locks and they are 100 years old. Watch a video on the building of the canal before you travel. The scenery was beautiful.
Reposition cruises are listed on Carnival.com. This sip moved from Alaska to Miami where they will now do the Caribbean since Alaska is going into winter weather. Also Journey cruises are listed there, usually 14+ days.
