It was the trip of a life time! by MarshaM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

I loved the decor of the ship, it reminded me of 20,000 leagues under the sea and captain Nemo. The crew were very friendly and helpful in every respect. I had the time of my life.

Carnival Pride Mexican Riviera by LaurettaH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Ship was clean and crew was courteous. Activities were minimal - really need to plan your own stuff while on board as the activities available were mainly fitness and trivia related during the day hours. Evening entertainment was great. Library was minimal, so take your own books. Really use the library as a place for internet. Card games were minimal - if you want a game to get started, work with the activities staff and they will coordinate a "self-service" type of game group the next day or so.

winter get away by AnnetteJ1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We were on the Pride and it was OK we have cruised for many years and this is the first time we were bored. Partly it was due to the weather Colder than we expected for Mexico the ship really did not have much to offer on the cold days at sea and when they did have things to do they did not advertise them. Except of course the Casino. The decor was just average. The ship was very clean but just a ok trip. The embarkation and debarkation stunk we waited for both in lines for hours. Yes I mean hours. We would have been in trouble if it had rained.

GREAT TIME AND GREAT CRUISE by JamesF7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

I loved it. This was the most unique ship I have ever been on, with its Renaissance style and paintings, and 11 story atrium topped with a spiral glass stairway leading to a replica statue of David by Michangelo. Excellent food, crew and staff were great, lots of onboard activities, and nice port stops.

Needs Improvement by AnnH4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Can't use swinning pools, too cold. No large tables available except in the dining rooms to play card games, game room unavailable, used to sell more cruise. Cocktail parties in theater, have to sit like watching a show, no place to mingle with other guests - dance floor up on stage, cruise director talks, talks, talks - the big sell. No free craft classes, yoga or pilates workouts, first Bingo cost $20 for three cards for only ONE games. Drinks TOO expensive. Rented a video to watch in room $8.99 and lost movie 2 times while watching - the second time approx. 10 minutes before end - gave up. No DVD players, no video library, no good books or magazines in library. Deck dance party held at night with lots of fog or dew, deck so wet dangerous to walk much less dance. Casino filled with smoke from smokers, also tables around pool area. Excessive photography services. You are inundated by people trying to take your picture, starting before you go on board. I'll go on a different cruise line next time.

A Happening Cruise by MarkN3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Ship was clean, well layed out and the staff we dealt with was top notch. The jazz trio that played nightly was hot and world class and the entertainment overall was great. Cruise director was fun and approachable. Food in main dining room a bit bland for our tastes but food was always prepared properly and of excellent quality. Don't be swayed by nightly sushi as rice to fish ratio was high and there was only one chef at a small station that was only open for a few hours nightly.

cruisin the riviera by LynettaB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The Carnival pride had friendly servers, was clean and room size, tho small, was adequate. the dining room staff was excellent , although hurried. we were not offered seconds and felt rushed. The cabin stewards were wonderful, always available and extremely helpful. the grill was understaffed and did not seem to have enough seating.

A perfect cruise by SusanH26

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

My husband and I have cruised numerous times including Hawaii, Alaska and the Mediterranean and our expectations are high for this type of vacation. The Carnival Pride exceeded even our high expectations for the 7day Mexican Riviera cruise. From the embarkation to the debarkation process, we were extremely satisfied and impressed with the efficiency, friendliness, and professionalism of the crew and staff of the Pride. It's a fact that the ship is both elegant and fun!

I can't say enough good about the entire experience. The staff was fun/ friendly / professional. Everything was really clean. This trip far exceeded my expectations - book a room w/ a balcony. It's worth the extra money.

Had A Great Cruise!!! by SandyC3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The ship is beautiful although I didn't really like the decor. We had a balcony room for the first time and loved it. The room was decorated fine and there was room for everyting, I thought the space on the ship was used well and it was easy to get where you wanted to go and easy to find. The weather was kind of cool so didn't try any of the pools but they looked lik fun. Spent the most time around the adults only pool and would have liked to try the water slide but was too cool for me! It looked like alot of fun.

Nice Cruise by BridgetB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

This was our 5th cruise. Princess 3 times, Carnival 2 times. The comparison is BMW to Ford (Princess to Carnival). I was disappointed in the casualness of dining room for dinner. People showed up in shorts and the rules weren't enforced. It cheapened the experience. The food was mediocre at best with limited options.

We traveled the week of 2-18 on the Carnival Pride, it was a wonderful family experience for grandparents, parents and grandkids. Fun was had by all, even the hard to please son-in-law said he had a good time more than once.

Will not cruise on Carnival lines again. Booking representative extremely un-helpful and annoyed at follow-up questions after payment was received.

A Good Experience by KathrynL1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The Ship was a bit smaller than I thought it would be, but it was well maintained with a curteous staff and we had a nice view from our balcony on the 7th deck, mid ship room. We were on time to all ports, and the cruise was without incident. The people who cruised were very nice for the most part, without a lot of fighting to get to something first.

Mexico cruise by LauraL9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

It had a great family atmosphere, lots of fun things to do for just about any age. Loved the cruise director and his side kick. Our cabin steward was good, but not overly helpful. There were many bartenders, other service people who seemed very disturbed to be spoken to. My kids had a ball. My husband and I were very upset to find out the purser had let our 17 year old into our safe while were off the ship. Also, very frustrated that we did not hear the word about "ship time" being different from PV time. We missed our tour by an hour because we did not know the correct time....different than ship time.
