Enjoyed the cruise with one exception. by VirginiaW1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We were freezing in the main dining room and the Showroom. Had to wrap up in jackets and/or shawls even tho had on long sleeves. Would be comfortable if temperature would be raised about five degrees. All staff was great. Liked the food station set-up at the buffet. However, would be good if they were grouped together a little closer. Some were quite a distance from the others. Had to walk thru the seating sections to get to some stations. Am very pleased that you did not have Free Style Dining. Like having a definite table with same group and not standing in line to be seated. I can stand in line to be seated at Denny's or Marie Calendars.

A Big Disappointment by BarbaraR13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

We traveled on the Carnival Pride out of Long Beach California. We paid for a Mexican Riviera cruise and ended up sailing in circles outside of LA. The reason was due to Hurricane Hennriette making landfall in Cabo St. Lucas. We understand that Carnival can't control the weather, but I called the night before to get an update and was told that the trip was still on as scheduled. They did not tell us until we had gotten of the bus transfer from LAX, So what were we to do. There was no time to research hotels in LA, etc. all the things that go with planning a trip. Carnival offered to reinburse our cruise and 25% off the price of our next cruise OR take the cruise, get $200. Carnvial onboard credit (which you end up giving back to them) and 25% off the next cruise. We are not sure we want to travel Carnival again. Additionally, we never received documentation from Carnival, which meant we had no transfer tickets. The bus company was not very understanding and gave us a difficult time. We made the best of the trip. But it was definitely not what we paid for.

Great cruise by BillB15

Been on this same cruise & ship twice. I like a quite time and the ship is big enough so that you can have both a noisey and quite time . I had heard that carnival is "tacky" but found this not to be true.

First Time Cruise Review by SharonT8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

As a family of independent travelers who've been around the world, our first experience on a cruise ship (Mexican Riviera) was a deep disappointment. In retrospect, I should have done sufficient research, listened to the misgivings of other like-minded travelers, and not been persuaded by television advertising. My advice to people who have never taken a cruise: think carefully about what kind of travel experience you enjoy, ask specific questions about the amenities/activities both on and off ship, ask others specifics about their cruise experience, and listen to their answers.

fun cruise to go with a lot of people by MarcieB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The cruise was fun but it would have been better with a group of people. I saw a lot of families. I just went with my daughter, age 11. There was not much for her age group to do.

one of the best cruises by EdwardC2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

when we first stepped on board the ship was beautifully decorated beyond our expectations. The atrium was the most beautiful we had seen on any cruise lines ever.Everything that we saw was so on this ship was so cheerfull. The dining room normandy was simply gorgeous.the buffet area had so many food items to choose from, and the view was fantastic. Our room was a balcony and though there was a partial obstruction (life boat),it was so spacious and enjoyable to just look outside. It was our first balcony, and we will always have a bacony from now on.

We found the Cranival Pride ship easy to get around, the elevators were excellent, everything was clean. The food and service was top notch. The variety of activities were good and we'd certainly consider taking another cruise.

A Truly "Fun" Crusie by JamesT13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

Nice large ship, not the largest or smallest we have been on. Great crew, lots of activities, and very good entertainment(shows, bars, art). The ship was not as grand and open as expected compared to others we have been on but was still very nice!

Best Vacation Ever!!! by GregR

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

A beautiful ship with so much luxurious detail, I know that I didn't see everything it had to offer. The crew is phenomenal and they went above and beyond my expectations. I will cruise with them again in the future.

Good for the whole family by AT630

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Carnival Pride / Destination: Mexico

The ship was very clean. The decor was interesting. The most surprising thing was how quiet our stateroom was. We were on the 6th floor (Empress deck) and unless people were stomping up and down the hall (which only happened a couple of times), we didnt' hear a thing! I highly recommend at least a balcony, and if you can get a suite, the extra room in the bathroom is definitely worth it. We utilized the photography/videography services which were great as well. The staff was extremely friendly all over the ship.
