Review summary

If you’ve never done a 14 day cruise and you’re worried it might be too long, don’t worry. The time flies by! We have been spoiled now. Everything about this cruise was memorable(even the extra day and rough seas we endured getting home sailing through the nor’easter off the coast of the Carolinas). Book this cruise! You won’t be disappointed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Baltimore is such an easy port to get to and from. Embarkation is very well organized.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Main dining room experience was great. Our maitre d (Ken) was visible for every dinner(great singer too). Wait staff was very attentive. Food was wonderful. Buffetts were plentiful and delicious. We would suggest going to buffet a little later(after you’ve got your lounge chair at the pool).

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
All of our sea days were spent at the pool. Bar staff was always around to provide great drinks.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
This “Journeys Cruise” had incredible entertainment. Very different from the standard 5-8 day cruises we’ve taken in the past. The special entertainers were very enjoyable.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
No complaints about any of the service staff. Everyone was friendly and accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The Carnival Pride is the perfect size vessel for us. Great layout. Lots of sunning areas. The Atrium is stunning!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved our cabin. Nice balcony. Nice couch to lounge on. Close to forward elevator banks.

Ship tip

On sea days, get to the pools EARLY. Chairs fill up fast!

Ports of call

Frederiksted, St. Croix, U.S.V.I.

Clean port. Not a lot at the port. Excursion selection from Carnival wasn’t the best.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

Nice port. Did excursion through Cruisline. Enjoyable sights and wonderful relaxing beach break.

Fort-De-France, Martinique

Very nice port. Very clean. We hired a taxi and took a short two hour tour of historic sites and parts of rain forest. Very nice taxi driver.

Bridgetown, Barbados

Long walk to excursion pickup location outside the port. Excursion through Cruiseline was not the best. A lot of confusion about what was paid for and what we would see. See my review of the excursion on Cruiseline.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

5 out of 5
Great port. Well organized excursion with Carnival that took around the entire island and ended with a great lunch at the beach. Stick with Carnival excursions here in our opinion.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
Another great port. Another well organized Carnival excursion directly to the Vivo Beach Club. The beach wasn’t the best. Very rough surf and undertows. The pool however was incredible. Great bar and very attentive waitstaff. Food was delicious. Everything reasonably priced. Oh and did I mention there is a microbrewery at this location?! Ocean Lab Brewing. Sample the beer! It was great! This is a must do in Puerto Rico.

Grand Turk Island

Nice port. Our last stop. Too tired to do an excursion so we relaxed at Margaritaville after enjoying the Jello syringe shooters.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very well organized too!

My wife and I did a 10 day cruise on the sunshine out of Charleston and loved it. Looking to book a 14 out of Baltimore in the future.

I want to do a 14 day cruise just not on that ship we went on her once and didnt like the ship at all but everyone has their favorite happy cruising

Interesting, as we have done the 7 day on that ship twice. We will take an 11 day Alaska cruise this summer out of San Francisco and we are very excited. 7days has been our longest cruise.
